Anyone here done the beltline blackout with striping tape? Got any left over I could play with? I'm not sure how it would look on my car I'd love to try a little bit out.

Would you mind bringing some on Sat.? I can't decide if I do this if the rest of my chrome stuff will look funny. Have you blacked out your gas cap or door handles? I can't remember.

For those that are wondering where their beltline is here a photoshop I did to see what blacking it out would look like.

I was curious about the Beltline Blackout, I wanted to view
How my car would look with it, so I tested it out with a $3
Commercial (Premium) grade Electrical tape from Home Depot
Or Lowes, I put under the top black plastic, just enough to
Cover the top edge of the chrome beltline, left it on for a
Week to decide if I liked it, which I did, :) Then I carefully
Cut it with a razor the bottom edge. It's still removable, If
You didn't like it simply pull it of, and use a Goof Off, or Oops
To remove the sticky residue, (however test the Goof Off or
Oops) as I decided not to remove mine. I did this so that I
Could return the car back to the stock look, to trade in or sell.
What is Ironic is I got the idea, while in Camden, Maine. Surfin
The web, and coming across, Twister discussing doing the blackout
Beltline at a MOTD, Know I live in Raleigh NC, and am a member
Of the club, that got me thinking about various Mini mods....
Just thought I would share my experience......

It's time to re-do mine. It's starting to bubble and pull away from the edges. I looked into having it painted. From what I understand it's a huge ordeal to get the pieces off without breaking them and then there's a strong chance the paint will chip off. Apparently the white M7 car that was at Dragon had it done but it didn't end up too well. Ah, well. Guess I'll just do vinyl twice a year or so. I just love the look of it.
