Do you need Steering Stops for 18" wheels

I'm considering buying a set of 18" wheels and tires for my MCS. I know that MINI recommends steering stops for use with 18s, but are they really necessary?

Does anyone have any experience with installing the steering stops?

get 215 35 18 tires and they wont rub...thats what N2MINI and myself have on our cars

I have 215/35/18 on mine, too, with no stops.... No problems. :)
