I just wanted to say hello to everyone. I placed my order on Fed 28th for a CR/W MCS JCW. Mark was a big help in suggesting a great MA named Ed Simmons at Flow Mini. I hope to be active in the club and will post more info as time permits. My production week is 12 and right now I am not sure I will have my car in time for the Dragon.
Happy Motoring

Howdy! Welcome!
Isn't that Simmons dude awesome? :p :D
The car in your signature looks like the one Ed said He and his wife owned. Are you ED or his Wife?

3/22 was the last update, with the contrasting roof colors, it spends extra time in the paint shop, but if I had to guess, it will probably be a lot further down the line tomorrow, if not done.

Heard that plant works 24/7, it may be on the way to the ship right now. I ordered mine the last of March 05 and got it in 7 weeks. So maybe you'll be lucky and get it in time for the Dragon. It'll come in at Charleston, and then onto Greer. I know the wait is kill'n ya. Once you get your vin number you can find out which shipping lines will bring it over. Usually the WW lines. Then you get the ship itinerary. Then get on the Port of Charleston website and you'll be able to see what terminal (usually the Union Pier Terminal)and birth the ship is in and what time they unload your sweetie. I knew more about the shipping of "Scooter" than my MA did.

I really like all the posts "on" and "off" topic in my Hello thread. :D I have been following the status of my MINI very close. RB you are a great MA! I plan on going to the Dragon but not until friday the 5th. I hope to put some names and faces together.
PS When I was in England I saw and did a lot drinking too! :p

I swear my Brit friends drink like a bunch of fish. I can't (and won't even try) to keep up. But, here's an idea!!! Perhaps a bunch of us can take a trip to Oxford next year. How's that!? Anyone...????? We have a friend who works at the brewery / pub nearby. Her husband is automotive development engineer - Lotus, Jag, TVR, Ford, etc...
Sounds great to me. I been thing about going back since last summer when my daughter went. I could stop by Bath and see if her journal is in the lost in found at the Roman Baths.

The car has been completed and handed to the carrier. The next update I will get is the information on which ship it is on, which will give me an outline of the journey and when it will be in Charleston.

Good! We'll have to get our thinking caps on and see when a good date is. I recommend spring and fall. The summers can get rather warm and the Brits are stingy on A/C. The winters are dark and can be miserable.
Fall 2006 is spoken for with us though....Scotland. But spring 2007...? Anyone?
I would not be able to go until after april 15th. I own some tax offices so I have to hang around home until tax time is over.

this is pretty weird. The car left the UK on the 3rd on a K-Line ship, I've got a bill of lading number, but no vessel name or voyage number. Its due to arrive in Charleston on the 13th.

What is the bill of lading #?
I will check the port of charleston to see what ship a sheduled to arrive on that day. I am at a cafe typing this on my Treo so I do not have the link with me. This is good news! Thanks

Called K-line CSR gave them bill of lading # and was told my MINI on the PAMPALONA or PAMPLONA I am not sure of the correct spelling. The CSR said it would arrive on the 14th. However, the Port of Charleston vessel schedule shows no such ship scheduled to dock in the next 30 days. It looks like a job for Scooby and the Gang. :p

My car got lost once it made it on a boat. Then it showed up about a week later. I had my car in 6 weeks from order to delivery.

I found my ship's vessel shedule. It left Southampton on 3/31 and will arrive April 14th. The ship is the "DYVI Pamplona" and holds about 4300 cars.
I did find a picture of the ship. This picture was taken during a refit of the ship in Jan/05.

The owners lounge was correct about the est delivery date of 4/20. I went by today and saw it for the first time. My wife picked it out of the other MINIs on the lot but me being a "know it all husband" quickly informed her that that was not the car because it did not have an areo kit or driving lights. I was soon to learn the the wife really does know best. It was the car and I got some picture will my cell phone but they don't do the car justice. My MA wasn't there when I got there but he didn't know I might be stopping either. He did call me later to iron out the last few details. Here is a picture of my MINI before the Areo and lights.

My MINI on pickup day at Flow MINI. Sorry for the file size. I will reduce when I get a chance. I love the way it snaps you into your seat at the smallest press of the pedal. I am very happy! I will keep it below 4500rpms and 95mph until 1251 miles then all bets are of! :D
