Any interest for MINIs @ Myrtle Beach?

Please mark your calendars for our fall event - MINIs At Myrtle Beach. We plan to leave the Raleigh area late Friday afternoon to arrive in Myrtle Beach by early evening. Later that evening will we have a Meet & Greet on the beach. The committee has come up with many great ideas and we will announce them here as soon as the hotel and other events have been finalized. I have received some questions regarding the length of this event. Please give us your opinion. Are you happy with driving down on Friday and staying until Sunday? Would you like to see it longer and if so how many days? Do you have any suggestions for an afternoon event on Saturday? This is in the early planning stages and we need to hear from you. My opinion on length of trip is 2 nights are fine by me, but if leaving Raleigh area late after noon I would probably just take friday off and therefore would rather head on down to beach and be there after lunch sometime, instead of getting there 8 or 9pm..Maybe we can have two caravans going down, early and late, for those that can and those that can't take friday off??

So I guess people in the Triangle area can meet somewhere off I-40 around 9, 10 or 11am to caravan down. Where would be a good place to meet off I-40? Maybe Brier Creek or WhiteOak off I-40/70?

You may want to plan a Fri-Sun so others who want to take/spend quality time with a significant other, or spend more time could so earlier. I'll be a weekender if I can make it.

A drive to a nice lunch spot or early dinner is a popular idea. I also like to hit the beach for a morning walk, (now that I don't get hang overs any more--finally figured out what caused that!) I'd also be happy to go watch others drink and get funny at night! I'll bring cigars if I make it, for those that are so inclined...

i've got it penciled in ... i am trying desperately to accrue some leave time with this new job i just started and all these irresistible MINI options are not helping my cause!! :-)

.. but Sept should be do-able, even if i have to wait to leave until 2-3pm on Friday and play catch up to the rest of you ..

Is there any kind of itenarary? DH has to work until afternoon (gotta love the Army) so we won't be heading down until Saturday.
