I just ordered the Viper Stripes from Aesthetic Creations, and need someone in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area that knows what they are doing to install. They aren't easy because of the bonnet shape. This is what they look like:

Please let me know if you know someone with some experience with this type of thing.....

Did you ask for a discount that they provide our members?

No, I didn't. I have so much crap going on, I'm lucky to get anything at all done. Damn, I wonder if he'll credit me.....

Back on topic, does anyone have any ideas of who might be able to handle this in the Triangle, and kind of importantly, at a reasonable price. I got 2 quotes of $170-$225 just for labor!!!! I think that may be a little steep. Twister's guy in WS said it would be ~$60.00, but that's a long way to go for a stripe install. There has GOT to be someone near here......

They are nice to work with, should not be a problem.

Ditto. Email or call Hannah - sometimes she's "nicer" than Mike. :-)

Try Total Vehicle Preparation (TVP) on Aviation Parkway. My boss just had them install a clear bra on his Porsche and they did a really good job (he placed first in a concours last weekend). Here's their contact info:

Twister,
just wondering what kind of price you got from Mitch... I had talked with him before you even passed his name to me... He gave me a price with the 10 year vinyl of $250 for the front and rear Viper Stripes... I used the pictures from the same car to get the est. so it would be with the pin stripes..

Seams kind of high to me... So wondering about going with the Shelby stripes and doing it myself....

Mine was all inclusive with the window tint job. So I did bay a lot more.

There plenty of places to have it done. I choose Mitch on the recommendation from Frank at FLOW. I wish i could do as great a job as him. I'll stick to the easy stuff.

Yeah I am sure you did... I just added up the cost of the stipes from Aesthetic Creations and it was $170 so maybe that was not that far off.

I have no doubt he would do a very good job, he seams to know what he is taking about.

I asked Hannah about it, and she immediately credited me the discount. Very nice people. Thanks for the tip. I owe ya.....

Pete with tvpauto responded and quoted me the same price as Mitch. He seems to know what he's doing, so as soon as the stripes arrive, I'm off... Thanks, everyone...:)

I am thinking about using them to install new bonnet stripes, clear bar..... and maybe window tinting as well.

I have not contacted them yet but I think they are pretty close to my office in Morrisville. Definitely, a lot more convenient than Wake Forrest. (I live in Cary)

Thanks,

See above post. They did a good job with a full-hood clear bra on a Porsche Cayman for a very discriminating client.

Thanks BThayer !!

You clued me into these guys originally. I was just wondering if anyone else used them in the past for anything on their Mini. Just looking for some additional peace of mind before I call them.

Thanks !!

Sorry, I missed the "anybody else" part in your post. I only know of one person who's used them, but they did an excellent job. Maybe call them up and ask if they've worked on any other MINIs?

Just got back from having my windows tinted at PTVAuto. I was not sure if I wanted the sunroof done so I held back till I see how bad it gets without tint.
Pete did a terrific job in under 2 hours. I had him put on a little extra darker tint and it look great. His cost was $ 220.00.
I also inquired about having my tail lights tinted and that will cost me $ 50.00. I will save now to get him to do my clear bar next.
He said that he has seen an upswing in Mini Coopers recently, wonder why. Including some chick with a light blue mini inquiring about new stripes and tint. Hmmmm I wonder if she is a Tar Heel fan?
Pete said he will work something out as far as club discounts, I will get back to you on that later though.

I had a new set of stripes and a clear bra installed yesterday at TVPAuto.com. (correction) Pete did a GREAT job and I would HIGHLY recommend him. Takes his time, measures and doesn't seem to mind if people watch either. I had the complete hood, bumper, mirrors, fog lights, headlights and he even "threw in" the A-pillar and the back bumper top piece. Highly professional work and he really takes his time and does it right. I will see how it holds up over the long term but I feel confident that if I take care of it (which I will) it will last me many years.

I will try to take a good picture and post it up tonight or later this week. (for the stripes since you can't see the bra!!)

I think it's safe to say we have a resource in the Triangle for a good stripe/clear bra/window tint installer:

Total Vehicle Preparation Pete did a great job with this stripe.

Yea, I saw the after look today when I was dropping my car to be tinted...John's stripes look even better in person. I am going to have them do the reverse blue stripes on roof in a few weeks. They do an awesome job on stripes & window tinting.
