Cookouts?

I was brainstorming today (while driving and therefore missed my exit!) and I thought about how we all get together a lot at restaurants. With the warm weather coming up, what about cookouts? I was thinking maybe we could get together at local parks or at member's houses. If people are willing to do it, I was thinking that maybe member's houses might be easier. Instead of us hauling a bunch of stuff to a park, maybe the member who is hosting could provide most of the food (other than stuff that does not require refrigeration that people can bring) and attending members would make a donation of $5 per person to help with a cost of food. My husband and I would be willing to host one. What does everyone think?

Tanglewood would be a great venue. Lots of shelters, horseback rides, etc.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I like the idea of it being at someone's house better too. :D

I would say let's gauge some interest and then pick a date. :D

I'm glad it sounds like I don't have an idiotic idea! While I do like the idea of the park, it really is just hard to get all the food together with people coming from all over...that's just my opinion. Anyhow, like I said, if people are interested and like the idea of coming to someone's house, then my husband and I are willing to host one. Can you imagine though, the looks we will get from the neighbors? They would be so confused!

I can only imagine what my neighbors thought when a caravan of MINI's pulled up in front of my house this past weekend. :eek:

I'm in, but we're not at the stage where we could host anything. I'm missing half my kitchen floor, etc. (we're remodeling).
