I posted this elsewhere, but will re-state it here:

I am in search of a really nice Classic MINI, preferably a MKIII or newer, preferably LHD, preferably within a days drive of NC. I am already scouring the usual places (eBay, etc.), but I am looking for an "inside" type lead to beat the market and get the right car at the right price. I have all the time in the world, but am ready to pounce on the right deal. If any of you hear of anything, feel free to pm me. Thanks.

BTW, I will also settle for a nice E30 M3.........

I just saw a Mini reasonably priced on eBay, BIN was 4200. I think it was in Charlotte. Minimania.com is a great place to find one too. Their classified ads as well as their forums is a great place to keep an eye open. I will keep my eyes open for you as well. Is there a price range you would like to stay in and are you serious about it?

Most of what I've seen leads me to believe I can find a very nice one that will look good and make a trip to say, MOTD with no "issues" for under $10k. I have seen some really, REALLY nice ones for ~ $15k +/-, which I would do for the right car.

I am serious, but I am also patient and willing to wait for a damn good deal. It's as close to a buyers market as we're likely to find on vintage cars (with a some exceptions), and there appears to be a decent supply, so I figure now is the time.......

Last year my wife and I were outside Savannah, Ga and saw a place near Hilton Head where this guy had 3 for sale in his front yard. later that day with the Savannah MINI group I was told NEVER buy from him. His stuff is crap and flaws in his work was hidden very well.

Just for info while you're looking

Good to know because I have seen a few ads from that area that have to be from someone who does this as a business:

Great, not sure if you two can work it out but I thought I'd point you in some sort of direction....

Bruce is pretty anal about his stuff so I know it would be in great shape.

It looks to be a pretty solid car (sent many pics). I would have to change the paint color (in and out), wheels/tires and the interior to live with it, though. For someone else, it might not be an issue, but by the time I did all the stuff I would want to do, I could buy one already done, probably for less.

It could be a real nice car for someone, though....

Again, I appreciate your help.

outstanding! I will pm you with immediate needs. BTW, where is Mint Hill (I assume that's where your shops are)?

You may want to talk to Grassroots Dan...he's got a few scratches on the back of his MINI.....should buff right out....:)

One of my shops is in Indian Trail which is about 5 miles from Charlotte. The other is in Monroe which is about 13 miles from Charlotte.

I'm less than 2 miles from I-485 and Hwy 74 (Independence Blvd)

What did the car you are talking about look like? The one that needs new inside and out to make you happy? and where is it? And who are the painters? I need my classic mini painted.

Peace,
Dale

It was probably the worst color I've ever seen. The seller described it as baby puke, and that was truth in advertising. Although someone could make this work, it's not what I am looking for.It needed too many things changed out for me. Unfortunately, I deleted the pics. PM me and I will get you the sellers info.
