It never fails, anytime Ivan gets in the company of other Mini/MINI's he trembles and breaks. Made it all the way to the park, had a great time, but someone asked me if my car was marking it's territory when we stopped the water pump failed. Had to stop 10 times on the way home to fill the radiator. Finally just left the cap off, made it easier. Put the cap on the all the water pressure blew the water out quicker. It was good to meet everyone!

After you took off, someone noticed stuff scraping the pavement, the comment was made jokingly on whether or not you'd make it home. And then you stopped at the top of the hill we all went. o_o and were like "We weren't serious!"

I'm glad to hear you made it home though.

Glad you came out, and glad you made it home. :)

Yeah, the tail pipe came loose and was dragging the ground a bit too. Ivan has refused to make me or himself look good through the years. Always something. I wasn't kidding when I said don't buy a classic unless you plan on carrying tools and parts. I am sure not all classic Mini's are as needy as mine being so old. My chassis number is 18062 so they had a lot of improvements and time to get it right. If I was not so emotionally attached, I would sell it and buy a late 60's early 70s Cooper S.

I had a '77 TR7 for a few years back in the '80s. Even less than 10 years old, that car was horrifically unreliable.... always carried a toolbox and duct tape and spare parts and wire and coolant and oil and....

My poor daughter is weight conscious and to drag the tail pipe on the way out didn't go over so big. The bracket that holds it up came loose and hung low.

World record for people in a classic Mini "22" that includes two in the boot! You can fit 4 adults in the car pretty comfortably.

I had a '73 MGB, so I'm in the British Sports Car Love / Hate club, too. Thanks for bringing Ivan out, it's cool to see where it all began and it's also cool to see vintage metal still on the road thanks to patient and caring hands like yours!

I fell in "love" with Ivan.... Thanks so much for bringing him to the outing. (And cut the ol guy some slack... when we get some age on us we tend to get slower, cranky and a tad broken down..... but man do we have character! )
