Has anyone been previously? Reviews?
Anyone planning to go from Raleigh?
(Is this part of what the BRMINIacs are doing that weekend?)

Thanks for the heads up, littlemommablue (who will be slightly more so, at least temporarily, next week .. :))

the reviews for the event in the Virginia paper were pretty convincing. and I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure the Richmond dealer is sponsoring the event. maybe not? It is for sure being sponsored by a Mini dealer. I just can't remember which one.

We have been thinking about going. Not too far from us and beautiful rolling hills and country side.

We, the Blue Ridge MINIacs, initially had that event on our event options list but I (Casper) couldn't find out much information about the event , even when I called the Winery to ask them questions about the event. Their website was not much help either. The "man/boy" I talked to didn't seem to know much about the plans nor did he offer to get someone on the phone that did. So, we scratched the event from our option list - long drive up I-81 and I-64 (not a preferred drive for minis, or anyone else - too much traffic) just to get there and not know what you are getting into. We had better choices and we voted on a drive to Paint Bank, Va. with the British Automobile Club (a drive over two mountains along Rt. 311 - a Virginia scenic By-way) and to eat lunch at the Swinging Bridge Restaurant in Paint Bank. After lunch, we will entertain various choices for the afternoon and we may not all do the same thing.

See SW Va Events postings for more information on Blue Ridge MINIacs events.

I must have missed this post back when it was current. We did this event the last two years and had a great time. River City MINIs in Richmond had a group meet up and a drive over to the winery. They found some really winding roads to make the trip on. That was fun all by it's self. The Cooper Winery was even better this year, nice temps made it all the better. Last year was brutally hot. There were probably 80 MINIs there and the wine tasting was great. Crown MINI from Richmond was there with a couple of cars including a Cooper Works Clubman, that we almost bought. Of course if I did we wouldn't still be waiting for our Laser Blue Clubbie to arrive! Their wines are great, the super sweet Vida and chocolaty (yes chocolate wine) Noche is extremely unusual. And for 15 bucks ya got a nice lime green Cooper Vineyards shirt and a MINI wine glass. I'd highly recommend attending next years event! Here are some of the pics we took.

Dale, thanks for the input on the winery event.

I can't wait to see your car. I think i've decided on Laser Blue and Black for my colors.

I'm glad you had a good time at the Cooer Winery. I Love the pics~
