Exhaust will be my next step and I'm wondering what different aftermarket exhausts members have so I could possibly hear the different tones. let me know what you have and your thoughts on it.

I was wondering the same thing, about the different sounds
Before I decided to go with the Borla Race, IMO the best sounding exhaust,
However it can vary, might want to check out these links to hear the various aftermarket and JCW exhaust systems,
http://www.mini2.com/engine-drivetrain-tuning/98526-mini-exhaust-sound-clip-reference-thread.html
I also liked the M7 exhaust http://www.m7tuning.com/files/m7final3.mov
The movie clips takes a little to load, but it worth the wait, it?s really tricked out car with a Cosworth Head and Cam, the other car has a modified Borla System both are great sounding.
Hope that it helps, enjoy......
P.S. Hoping that this car club rally will be as enjoyable as the the M7 clip, hint...hint.....

Just came across this. Drew has #9. I'm going with the Invidia, (not listed here), b/c it has great titanium tips and takes the pitch higher, (think Ferrari), instead of lower, (I agree Borla race is the "best" of the throaty sounds to my ears).
I had a built 5.0 Mustang before this with a cam, and Flowmasters, so this little engine isn't going to make the deep sounds I'd be looking for, so I'll head the other direction.

Check out that blue tip!
Sound bite, doesn't do it justice, sounds better in person...

I want to upgrade to an aftermarket exhaust sometime within the next 6 months or so (need to save money hehe). I can't decide between the M7 or the Borla Race, but it will probably be one of those.
I do have a few questions for anyone that has an aftermarket exhaust... have you had any problems with NC emission inspections? Has anyone looked at their inspection readouts before and after? If so what kind of change did you see in the pie charts?
Not sure if it even matters now, since most inspection stations are going by the obdII readings it seems. Just curious.

I've had 2 diff since I repplaced my stock and FLOW did my inspections. They never said anything to me and I have passed both.
BORLA is the best by far!

The Invidia's nice. I thought about that one some. I hope you get it Dave so I can see it in person. :D I've got dan's v.1 one-ball now and it does great for the money. If I switch up I'm going with a Borla Street or a single sided exhaust such as the Alta or something similar.

I'm loving the one-ball, but when the time comes that I feel like dumping some $$$$ into an exhaust, I'll be getting the Invidia. Very high quality build, great sound, and those blue flamed tips will blend oh-so-well with my Hyper Blue. :D

I had Dan (Grassroots) do the one-ball mod & I'm really enjoying it. It's got a decent bit more rumble & burbles, but not obnoxiously so.

I have Milltec sport on our mini. I love the sound plus the way it looks You cant see the mufflers from the back.Major benefits of the Milltek Sport exhaust systems:
bullet Real documented power improvements in horsepower and torque
bullet Dyno-developed
bullet Stainless steel construction throughout (even inside the mufflers)
bullet Sound quality that can be heard outside, but pleasant inside
bullet Platinum-coated stainless steel catalysts (not cheap inadequate ceramic-based cats that can fail quickly)
bullet True bolt-on installation
bullet Lifetime warranty on all exhaust systems
