MIni Convoy from the RTP to the Dragon

I was planing on heading out to Fontana Village next from the Durham, NC area next Friday around 11:00 (AM of course) and was wondering if anyone else wants to form a convoy of Minis heading towards the Dragon. If anyone wishes to drive out there with me I was thinking of meeting at the parking area near the Sears Service Center at the Streets at Southpoint at 10:30 and leaving at 11.

Is there any chance you could get to the Winston-Salem area by 10am and ride up with most of the folks going.. Last year we probably had 15 cars heading to Fontana..
I'm pretty sure there is atleast a few coming from your area to meet up here..

I'll be late-ish this year.... my 8 year old is coming, and I can't pick him up from school until maybe 12:30... so we'll hit the road then and be at Fontana as soon as we can.... I'm sure we'll make up a LITTLE time on the rest of the group... :tongue:

But we won't catch y'all, with a 4 hour head start... probably.... unless you take a 3 hour lunch break.

This all depends on if Flow has my MINI ready by 1100 am... I could convoy in the loaner with a side trip to Flow MINI to for pickup if the group is willing...

If not, I could possibly trail with Blimey... two MINI's in draft could make up even more time...

I'm actually making a partial work trip out of this on Friday and though all the MINIs stopping at courthouses along the way with me might impress the people there, I'm sure there's other ways everyone would prefer to spend their time, so won't be able to join the Raleigh based caravan for this one .. what time does the group expect to be arriving? I'm sure I'll be there in time for the BBQ dinner but not sure how much earlier -- all depends on how fast I can get out of the doors -- and most of you know I can be a pretty fast talker so hopefully sooner rather than later ..

OK - my plans are firming up....

For anyone wanting / needing to leave the Triangle area at lunchtime on Friday, here's the "late convoy" plan:

RudyT and I will be departing Holly Springs at 12:30PM. If others want to rendezvous with us, we can be at Southpoint at approximately 1:15PM. Otherwise we'll take an alternate route to Greensboro, and will make a quick stop at Flow MINI at approximately 2:30PM. Then will proceed with great haste to Fontana, to arrive in time for dinner.

Email or PM me if you want to join us somewhere along the way and we'll plan accordingly. The more, the merrier!

Ooops - just saw BThayer's post also... We'll go ahead and plan that RudyT and I will swing by Southpoint - usual place, Starbucks near REI (across Fayetteville Road from the actual Mall). We should be there between 1:00 and 1:15. Call me or Rudy if you're coming and will be there after 1PM, because we're not planning on staying for long, just loop through the lot, collect whoever is there, and motor... but can wait a few minutes if someone is running late.
