July 8th Party at the Willards

Come join us for a day of fun, sun, driving, eating, and socializing! We will take a run up highway 66 @ 2pm we will meet at Lowes Home Improvement on University Parkway, then have a social- beer/wine swap-cookout at their house from 3pm until ?

Kirk and Diann will furnish chicken and roasted pork. The club will provide sodas and paper products for everyone. You should bring any non-soda beverages you would like, and a side dish and/or a dessert. The Williards have a very large deck and hot tub, and folks are welcome to camp for the night if they'd like. They also live near Hanging Rock Park, and it would be an easy ride over there for hiking or swimming that afternoon if you'd like.

We will need to know how many will be coming by July 1st, and will probably need to limit the total to 30 people, so please send a reply email me if you plan to come (and how many you're bringing - i.e. FULL NAME +3).

This will be a shine-only event that will be rescheduled if we have a rainy day.

I think the plan is leave LOWES @ 2 and drive straight there and drop off food. Then eat around 3-4 and do a drive afterward. Kirk let me know if i'm correct.

If the invitation is still open, I would love to join. Will anyone have room for a rider from Lowe's? I'll drive if not, but figured since I don't have my Mini yet I would just ride along. I'm happy to bring/buy/make a side or something, just let me know if there is anything I can bring.

By the way, my Mini went into production on the 3rd and should be done by Monday!!! :D I really can't wait to take delivery!

Ann and I want to thank Kirk and Diann for their hospitality in opening up their home to all of us. We missed those of you of could not make it. The ride was alot of fun and I personally want to thank Kirk and his friend Russell for letting me "pick" a few songs with them. And I use the term "pick" on my part loosely.

The food was excellent. Shea and Haley, you guys need to expand your taste buds :D. the "grilled" chicken and pork was very tastey.


I hope we as a club can do something like this again. It was a great time for friendship and fellowship with people with a common interest...minis!!!!

And even if not for the Mini, it was a wonderful time to be with new and old friends. The Mini though is what brought us together.

Thanks for hosting this get-together on Saturday. I had a blast, as if you couldn't all tell from the newbie grin that wouldn't go away after the drive. The food was great, and the house is beautiful. Hope to see you all again soon!
