My wife and I are in the process of buying our first mini. I was going to wait to join this forum after we actually made the purchase but I thought I may be able to get some good advise from you guys as we take this journey.

I am an avid NCSU Wolfpack fan. My son just graduated in December 2008 with an engineering degree. Now with what little money I have left I want to buy this mini. It has to be a convertible. We want to travel to the beach and mountains and love the feel of the outside air.

As for the "S", it would be great to have but it is not a must. I have driven both and the "S" is awesome. I love the torque and super charged power but it is not a must at this point. How do each of you feel, "S" or not?

Right now I am looking for a 2005 or 2006. I have thought about a new one but don't think that would be the best move at this time.

I am open to any suggestions you may have.

I agree, I would suggest S.

Of course, it has to be Chili Red. I don't think they have a white top, but with all convertibles; you eventually have to replace the rag top, and could go white.

Welcome to MiniWuf...Glad to see you scored the MINI you wanted....now we can go cruise together.....the only rule is no talking work while driving the MINIs!!

(We have worked together for 25 years....) I think you will find this is one of the best decisions you have made in a while.

Love the convertibles... Had my ride in for a quick wash form the dealer and saw an orange convertible with the JCW kit. AWESOME! Couldn't stop staring at it!
