We were all hoping that it wouldn't be freezing rain like some of these February events, but we never thought we'd be applying sun-block....
This past weekend graced us with 65 degrees and a newly scuffed surface at the THSCC VIR Full Course event. We were the first group to run this course after having nearly every corner grooved, and although the first couple of run groups had to endure very shakey surface and dust and grit everywhere, but early afternoon, there was a TON of grip that reduced everyones times by a measurable amount, and provided me with an opportunity to do things I had never done in ANY car on that track, most notably putting the pedal to the floor after turn 5 and not lifting until the kink before Oak Tree (I probably could have floored it there as well, but didn't have the nads)....
Here's a video showing the new surface, which will be sealed later on this year:

I was chasing a couple of Mustangs, didn't do too bad considering I have 1/2 the cylinders and less than 1/2 the hp (I should have been all over them, actually)....
