Our resident MINI technician used to work there. I've had no issues with FLOW. Always great service!

Hi SevenDollarHat,
The guys at Flow at pretty good, that is they usually try hard. They also tend to do things better when they know I'm involved (depending on the tech). I can always take care of you at my shop in Thomasville NC, for anything that is not covered by your warranty. Anyway, I hope your experiece wherever you take it is worth the trip. :)

I can say from experience the FLOW MINI in Winston Salem is a choice you will not regret. I have dealt with many dealers, mostly with BMW's, and have never come out of the situation with the same positive feeling I got from my first visit to FLOW. I bought the car fro an individual, but FLOW (Joe Yodel and Stephen Alexander) made me feel as though I had just purchesed it from them.
My situation was the clutch, which was replaced under warranty without any yelling or screaming or calls to the regional office. The machine was fixed the same day and they evcen offered a loaner for a trip to lunch.
It is well worth the trip to Winston, just to experience the friendly and professional folks there. PLUS, they have 2007's to test drive. See Joe Culp...the car is a rocket.

So... not meaning to highjack (or whatever you call it) but... since you mentioned the steering column clicking.... what exactly causes that? I hear that every now and then, and I also hear a noise coming from the passenger side that sounds like I have a styrofoam container squished under the seat and it makes that styrofoam box kind of noise....

*sorry*

Be sure to answer Becky...

In the meantime, another plug for Hendrick for those down here in CLT area, went in today for my 10K service, they also did wiper blades, gave me a quart of synthetic for the track, free, and I got to see the new Coop video--twice!

The whole MINI experience has been extraordinary. I usually call these places "stealerships" however, I've heard/experienced nothing but good things at Hendrick and Flow. Of course, I'll rely on GrassRoots Garage for all non-warranty work, b/c Dan does immaculate work and I like to see the race cars. ;-)

I know this is an old thread, but I figured it can't hurt to keep it going with current service experiences.

I took my car in to Flow today for its first service. Everything went smoothly and they took care of all the little things I wanted them to look at. Just one thing kept the experience from being a great one. The driver's side front fender flare had somehow popped off about halfway down (not hanging off, just a gap) and they fixed it by popping it back on (I have no idea how it got that way since I have never hit anything). Well, the tech apparently put way too much pressure on the area and left a nice dent in the panel just below the side marker. Not too happy!

The Dent Wizard guy wasn't around and I am waiting for them to call me to schedule to get it fixed here in Raleigh. This is actually the second time Flow has dented my car, the first time was when I picked it up upon delivery! I think they need to bring in some sheet metal for a "how not to dent MINI's with your hands" tutorial or something!

Other than that, my interpersonal experiences with Stephen and others there have been great.

Although it has been limited up to this point, my experience with Flow Mini's Service Department has been excellent.

After I purchased my Mini, I had to take it back to have a couple of "dealer install options" put on. Their installation work was excellent and completed well within the time frame that I was quoted.

I had to take it in last month for it's annual NC Inspection and to get the JCW intake installed. Once again, the installation work was excellent. While they had it they even changed the oil and filter; milage wise it wasn't due, but it was close to the recommended number of months. They didn't reset the service reminder and told me to bring it back when it goes of (in about 5,000 more mile) and they would change the oil/filter again and reset everything.
