Concourse de Graylyn - Tour de Graylyn

I just want to let everyone know about this event planned by FLOW MINI and Tar Heel MINI Motoring Club.

On Saturday September 16th at 8:30 am, I will be conducting the "TOUR TO GRAYLYN". It will end at the "Concourse de Graylyn" at approximately 11:00 am.

The Concourse is an event where priceless automobiles from all over the country will be on display. It will be our own "PEBBLE BEACH" if you will. For more info on the event visit http://www.concoursdegraylyn.com/

If you plan on doing the tour beforehand please meet at FLOW MINI at 8:00 am for a short countryside drive to end up at Graylyn. If you would like to only do the drive and not attend the concourse that okay also.

FLOW does need to know if you plan on attending this event weather you go to the concourse or not. PLease RSVP Sarah Clark at 336.788.3333 or by email sclark@flowauto.com

I do need a few people to help with the drive to keep the group together.

Yes children under 18 are admitted free.

Family tickets are available and according to LEE DAVIS, we will get $10 off. I'm not sure how this works so please let me know. I dont want this to keep anyone from attending.

Hmmm....I'm supposed to be showing in a car club at the Charlotte Auto Fair, however, this sounds REALLY good, b/c I have yet to go on club tour, and I relish the relics of our automotive past!

Anybody old enough to remember "Let's make a deal"? A TV game show where contestants choose between doors, boxes, curtains and prizes to reveal their prize--such as a new car, a lifetime supply of Rice a Roni, the San Francisco treat, or a herd of goats!

Monte, I'll take door number 3...no wait, number 2, no wait, the cash, no wait...the audience is yelling do the Tour/Concourse so I'll go with that.

I talked to Sarah Clark and she said that she would have individual tickets for $15 each at Flow on Saturday morning. She would perfer to be paid by check.

I'll be dropping the HotRod off for service (2nd service, motor mounts fixed, and interior power points fixed) on Sat. at 10am, so I won't be able to make the run to the event.

I called and talked with Joe, looks like I'll be able to drop the car off at 8:15ish, so I'll take the loaner on the tour :D haha. Hopefully it's something with a manual transmission, but I doubt it :(

I think it turned out well! We had the largest # of cars for any club that attended. 38 cars went on the drive and was a great day for the MINIs to drive.

:) Speaking for myself I enjoyed the event. Thanks to Mark for organizing the event and Flow hosting it. :)
It was quite a sight to see such a long line of Minis streching down 421. Hopefully no one got lost on the tour and made it back to Graylyn.

It should also make FLOW happy that the MINI was so well represented. We had better than twice the number of BMW's from FLOW.

You should have seen the faces of people as 38 cars drove on the grounds together.

Great pics Dave. Sorry I missed the drive BUT I did see you all driving down hiway 67 just after Spevco and the John Deere dealer (which is where I was heading). Looked really cool to see all those Minis on the road at once. Wished we could have been part of the festivities. Oh well there is always next time.

I tried to upload sopme pictures but they were 2M each and failed. I particularuly like the Stout Scarab. I'm sure everyone saw Hemingway's Roll's.
