We will meet at Lowes Home Improvement on University Parkway in Winston-Salem like normal and drive north to the BRP and then follow it down to the Mill and have lunch. If your interested we can stop off at Chateau Morrisette (http://chateaumorrisette.com) for a wine tasting. I think by then it will be nice and cool and I hope the leaves will be turning and not totaly brown. I think we need to meet at 9:30 am and leave no later than 10am. Its approx. a 2 hour drive.

We will also be stoping by Lovers Leap and the Birdhouse shop.

Tours at the winery on Saturdays are at 11, 1, 3 & 5 p.m. The cost for adults is $4 each; the tour lasts about 1 hour and includes a tasting of 15 of our wines.

Please bring a walkie talkie and your camera. This event last year was awesome!

If there is ONE event that a female significant other should join, it appears to be this one. Other than hitting some twisties, it seems like it is more about the people and the location than the cars. That's why this time when it's "ME + 1" it means me with a lady, lol. :p

But Gary & I were thinking of ya'll - you had GORGEOUS weather for the drive today. I hope everyone had a blast! We just had errands to do today that could not be postponed - I had a cat to take to the vet for his annual checkup (that had already been re-scheduled once, so he was behind on his shots) and Gary had an antique radio meet he had to attend because he had some radios to sell!

Can't wait to see the pics from the drive!

What a fun event. Thanks Mark for setting this up, and Steve and Ann for leading the driving. I'm looking forward to seeing some great pictures.

Dave, I've still got your radio, and I'll just keep it in my car until I can get it back to you.

Oh, and I've already washed my car to get all of the mud off, haha.

So many of you told me that it was a great day and I really appreciate that!

I uploaded over 150 images to the main gallery and they all turned out great!. If anyone would like to help edit the movie please let me know. Its on MiniDV tape, so I can get it to you whenever.

I also thought the Toggles Gap resturant did a great job handling our crowd.
The food was good especially the pie which I gave 3 forks up! I had the last piece of homemade apple but the chocolate disappered as fast as they could make it!

Some suggestions for next year?
Visit a different winery. Frank said there was another winery just down the Parkway which made better wine.
My personal favorite is the Shelton Vineyard in Dobson. Perhaps we could incorporate some parkway drive up to Fancy Gap and then down to the vineyard? They serve lunch there and can accomodate groups.
