Yay more people my age!!! :) Haha, I am 23 also, and up until now appeared to be the youngest member of Tarheel MINI's. Welcome to the club!
Check out downtown W-S if you like beer, wine, music, laid back atmospheres. Foothills Brewery is a great place to check out, as well as the other places up and down 4th St. I also enjoy 6th & Vine, a wine bar. It's a safe and fun environment, with plenty of people our age, as well as in their 30s, 40s, and up.
Ziggy's is about 5 miles outside of downtown W-S and has some pretty good bands come through fairly often. They do a lot of different stuff there. I have seen Ziggy Marley, Sister Hazel, Better Than Ezra, and plenty of other random bands there.
I don't know of much else in W-S or the rest of the Triad. There are a lot of nice bars and places like Ziggy's, you just have to find them. In High Point we've got Liberty, which is similar to Foothills, but not quite as nice. Greensboro has Natty Greenes, another brewery, as well as a bunch of clubs and bars on Elm St, in downtown.
Looking forward to meeting you guys.

Welcome! Griff and the woman with him, and the guy who was going to the auto-X that brought the SRT-4 at the recent mod day looked pretty young to me, too, of course I'm turning 47  on the 8th, so just about everybody looks young to me! LOL

Welcome to the club! Yeah HPUDrew took over the youngest member spot from me & Nullipara. There really isn't a whole lot to do around here unless you like to drink or eat. :D Seems like that's all my friends wanna do when we go out. Drew mentioned Natty Greene's in Greensboro. I'm not really familiar with W-S... We did just find the Liberty Brewery down in High Point last weekend. That place had excellent food and good beer.
Tell us more about the car!!! :D

We like to Drink and Eat. :D
Do I post here or another forum about the car?
If you like to eat and drink, come meet us at the Tour to Tanglewood. Volunteers get to eat and drink free. Check out the post on the "events" forum.

Where do you live in Winston? It is no New York but there are things to do once you find a few places that you enjoy hanging out in. I had a very similar experience when I recently bought my MINI from a guy in Rochester NY.

Welcome to the group!
There really isnt much to do here in Winston... There is the Red Rooster off of Jonestown Rdand there is the Country Corral in King... Ziggy's is also in Winston and there are plenty of strip clubs (bleck)
My boyfriend and I like to go downtown Winston on the weekends and we usually end up walking along Trade St in the "arts" district, window browsing and finding awesome places to eat...
I HIGHLY recommend 6th & Vine on 6th St, close to Trade St... It is a tad bit pricey, but the food is well worth it! & if you are into Pizza, try out The Mellow Mushroom, they have awesome gourmet pizzas and plenty of beer. During the warmer months, the whole restaurant is opened up to the outside. They have "moveable" walls that allow them to make it an open air restaurant. The Mellow Mushroom is located on the same block as the Nissen building (cant think of the name of the street right off...)
Also, during the warmer months they have all sorts of things going on. This past summer they had "Summer on Trade" where they blocked off a portion of Trade St in the arts district and it was like a street fest every Saturday night... Bandstand, lots of food... music and lots of dancing. They usually have stuff going on over at Dudley's on the park...
Also, a little bit further away.... over off of Stratford Rd in the Towers Shopping center (across from Thruway) there is a restaurant tucked away in the corner that is absolutely AWESOME! The name of the place is called "The Celtic Cafe" and they serve authentic Celtic food... from Shepherds pie, Bangers & Mash, Guinness Beef Steak... etc... They also have a wide variety of ale from lots of different places.... (not just your average Budweiser and Coors) Teresa O'Brien is the proprietor, and she is very nice! They have special dinners at different times of the month where you buy tickets and you get a full 3 course (or 4 course) meal and it usually has a wine or beer tasting with it, depending on the occasion.
I guess you can say that I am a connoisseur of food..... (and its starting to show!!! :p)
Let me know if I can be of further assistance!
