Dang it, I have to work till at least 1:00 on Saturday.. Haven't ever gone on Sunday, is there much going on then?

I'm hoping to get there Saturday. This is always one of my favorites (I hope they have the CanAm cars again - they're almost spooky powerful & fast).

Mark, the main races are on Sunday with qualifying on Friday and Saturday. Tom Chisholm is listed as bringing out his vintage Mini Cooper S again this year, which is a bit of a surprise as I thought he would have switched to the Lotus Super Seven he's having built.

I'll be out there all three days, as usual.

Kiwigould, I have a schedule and car class list already printed out for you. I'll get it to you on Friday.

If you guys are going to be out there Saturday you can look for me, Laura (KillerKar) and Mike (Kiwigould) in the main paddock, the grandstand at the bridge in the morning and our usual shady spot at the south paddock in the afternoon. Also plan on joining us at the Oak Tree Tavern bar afterwards.

Even with all the rain yesterday Mike and I still had a great time at VIR. We went out with a fast group of cars for the touring laps at lunch in the rain and had a blast! Driving the full track during a downpour doing good speed up the back straight really gives you a whole new perspective of driving at VIR.

Be warned, the touring lap fees are NOT cheap during this event! $35 for a one day session, $50 for all three days (sessions usually run 30-35 minutes). Both Mike and I opted for the three day package. This might be a blessing in disguise though. Your average mom & pops going out in their minivan or pickup truck might be a little reluctant to spend the money, so hopefully just the "hard core" speed contingent will be the only ones willing to foot the bill (PLEASE let this turn out to be true!).

Minimark, since Mike is not going to be there Sunday he said you can have his Sunday touring laps pass if you want it. (Twist your arm, right?) PM me so I can get you my cell number and call me when you get to the track on Sunday so I can get the pass to you.

If you are into British and Italian sports cars of any shape or size, you will LOVE this years' Heacock Classic! The pre-war MGs alone are worth going to this meet to see! Did I mention there's an Aston Martin DB4 racing there too? Two vintage racing Minis are there thrashing it out, so come out and root for the boys and girls! The weather should be just fine for Saturday and Sunday.
