I just saw that there has been ANOTHER shooting at a school today! That makes 3 in the last week! Obviously this is very off-topic, but I just hate to hear about it. The most recent one happened at a tiny Amish school in PA. There were 27 students in the entire school. It must have been terrible for them because I went to a 25 person school for a year, and I couldn't imagine what we would've done if something like that happened.

Anyway, my heart goes out to all of these children and families of the students and faculty that have been involved. I wonder what is provoking all of these recent school shootings!?

It really is very sad. Someone has to be pretty dang stressed out to roll up in a school and start shooting people. A lot of people around here don't remember but there was a shooting at my high school (Grimsley in GSO) back in the 90's. The guys who did the shooting was a friend of mine. He wound up turning the gun on himself after wounding the vice principal. Needless to say it was a pretty dramatic time in my life that really started to put things in perspective. I cringe everytime I hear about another one of these. :(

I think it was my senior year in HS, someone brought a gun and showed it to my friend Steve, "hey man, check this out". Steve picked the kid up by the neck, put him against a wall and said something like "you better plan on shooting someone with that thing, and don't show it to me again!" Yeah, he had a real way with people. I always carried a knife w/ me, but when you get jumped randomly on the street several times, it was out of protection, and I never showed it off to anyone.
The truth is, kids are mean to each other, and ones that get picked on are finding deadlier ways to retaliate. Its sad :(
