Hey all,
Noobie MINI owner here. It was a BIG step for me, but I traded my '07 Honda Civic SI sedan for a beautiful Hot Orange Metallic '06 MINI Cooper S convertible w/ 12K miles.
Being a lifelong Honda guy, this was HUGE. The Civic SI was my first ever new car (I'm 39 now), and it took a lot to part with it.
Of course, I'm taking all kinds of crap from my Honda brethren "You traded your FA5 for a Neon engined, overpriced, unreliable BMW-wannabe?, etc. etc.
At least I now have something in the MINI that my honda didn't have......TORQUE! Wow, torque is fun!
Don't get me wrong, I still love Hondas (and always will), but I just couldn't pass up this deal.
I've always liked the MINIS (and orig. Minis), as they have that go-kart like feel that I've missed. I used to own a highly modified '85 Honda CRX SI w/ DOHC VTEC engine, turbo, etc. etc. and the MINI is the closest car I've driven that compares to it.
Anyway, here's some pics. of the new baby:

I'm anxious to learn more about these cars, mods available, and most importantly....meet some folks here in person at a MINI meet.....tail of the dragon anyone??? I've been to Deal's Gap about 10 times now (all with my Honda friends), but anxious to take the S there.
Any help/insight is appreciated!
Thanks in advancehttp://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif
