Here he is! (Yes, he's a "he". With a name like KillerKar, what else??) More pics to come - I'm slowly figuring out how to get these things on here. At least the digital camera finally got fixed!

My first two "modifications" (modest though they are) are Union Jack tire valve stems and a REALLY nifty Union Jack inside rear view mirror cover.

He's clean & pretty & detailed as of yesterday all for our viewing pleasure!

Hope this works! :D

PS - Gary's Honda, "The Pod", is in the background, peeking in. :)

Nice! I like the union jack stuff. I'm trying to work a small black and gray version into my car but I'm not sure how it's gonna work out...

Thanks, Griff, for the compliments. :) He's a Brit right down to his tire valve stems! (Is it completely obvious that his mom's an Anglophile?!)

Mods ... In answer to your question, Jim, this is somewhere I really want to soak up knowledge like a sponge. I'd LOVE to rev Killer up a bit - first, however, a Clear Bra *must* go on him ASAP for protection. I also want white bonnet stripes but the husband has offered his opinion that they would look too "busy" (his word). I'm now mulling over his point (and it's a legitimate one) while considering keeping as closely to the UJ theme as possible.

The second thing I'd like to do is put some really GOOD tires on ... these that came on it seem pretty good but I know ZIP about all of this.

To be honest, I'd love for someone to pull me aside, open up Killer's bonnet and go, "OK, Lesson One. This is the .... " and then test me repeatedly until I know everything that's under there, what it does and what I can do to improve it.

I guess the actual answer to that question would be ... I'm open to suggestions, but I know that I am basically ignorant (and every time I open "MC2" and start reading technical stuff, this is pointed out to me very strongly because I don't even know what half the words mean!) so I'm also open to lessons!

Updates as details become available ... :)http://www.tarheelminis.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=2050&size=big&cat=516

Congrats, Laura--lookin' good!

As for mod's, you could take the easy route, like I am, look at what the mod-monsters in the club are doing, (not Mark, that's too dizzying ;-) ) and then get Dan to do it and you can't go wrong!

Seriously, you experienced types, a lot of forums I've seen have a list that gets posted, then edited and distilled to the things you should do, in the order you should to them, to get the most bang for the buck. I don't think you need to break it into purpose built categories, I think everybody on here is looking for a streetable performer with some style...

That settles it, You gotta come out to an event or something so you can browse the shop that is the club's cars. Someone here has done most anything you can do to a Cooper or S with the exception of a Turbo or Twin SuperChargers. BTW, If anyone has done those things I wanna see! :D Then you gotta decide what's most important to you. Is it Show or Go? And then how much of either do you want?

I'm gonna agree with your husband and say no to the stripes. It would be too busy in addition to all the UJ stuff. Keep it clean. :D

And ditch the Runflats asap. That will totally change the way the car feels. I would recommend BF Goodrich G-Force Sports. They're relatively inexpensive and have good grip. The ride is also quite a bit less bumpy than with the runflats.

For some more go, look into a Cold Air Intake. That's a good starter engine mod. That's gonna give you more airflow giving you a little more HP and a little better gas milage.

Bottom line... Come out and check out stuff people have already done. :D
