I received a call today from Ed Duerr's (http://www.tarheelminis.org/member.php?do=getinfo&u=226) and he would like your support. Here is a little of his story.

I was diagnosed with Waldenstrom's Lymphoma in February 2009 and started chemo almost immediately. My early treatment cocktail proved almost lethal, but I came back and we changed drugs and regimen. Got started on the new treatment in May. My health began to quickly return and by mid-June, my energy was returning very quickly. By early July I was back to running; something I have not been able to do for years because of the Lymphoma. I am now training for the half marathon and will be run/walking it this year.

I am one of the fortunate ones. I am run/walking for those who are not quite as lucky as I have been. LLS supports all of us with this disease.

Please help out so that I and all the others now and future patients can have a better life.

A quick update on my treatment:
Had blood work done and the results are in - my IgM levels are down to 483. Let me put that into perspective. When first diagnosed, that level was at 6500 (normal is <400)!

Ed (theoldkid) has a page setup for more information and a way for us to donate to his cause. Please if you can, help him try to reach his goal. He is an avid MINI owner and LOVES this Club dearly.

wow I had no idea! I have a friend who has hodgkins (sp?) and was recently given the news that she is cancer free. She is also involved in team in training. What a great cause.
Ed, if you see this, I'm very happy to hear that your treatment is going well and that your health is improving!
