Looking to have a pulley installed - I know Grassroots is great - just wondering if there is a "local" option for those of us in the Triangle area?
Thanks

MINI knowledgable shops are few and far between across the entire country. Grassroots Garage is by far your best option. It's well worth the drive (only about an hour from Raleigh) just for the time and headaches you would save yourself if you had a non-MINI tech installing the parts for you.
Experience and the right tools go a long way on the pulley installation. :-)

If you would like it done, Grassroots Garage is about 1.5-2.0 hours
Drive from Raleigh, Dan Zipkin, former Mini (dealer) Tech and Worked on Bentleys, Very Knowledgeable. Does Great Work. Reasonable pricing.
If you want to DYI, I can assist you, I have a Pulley Puller,
and have swapped out mine, a Liitle tricky without the right tools (custom tools), But it can be done, By taking your time. I live in Raleigh,
by the airport, if your interested in the DIY approach, There are a few others in the Area that might want to assist, or might want there's done.
If DIY, just let me know. Thanks

Thanks guys! Kinda what I figured. I'll probably get Dan to do it when I'm ready...

Save yourself the worry and use Dan. I watched him install about 4 one day, and I can attest that he knows what he is doing. Don't chance someone that may not have the experience. A one-hour drive trumps any problems that might occur with someone else.

Sold! Just wondering if there was a Dan-like-substance in RTP - now I know Dan is one-of-a-kind in these parts. :)

I know you're sold, but I like to post ;-) and for general interest: when I was at DDM last Saturday, I met a guy who's MCS is sitting there in pieces b/c of a bad pulley install that trashed his SC! Granted he's going to an M62, however, he's still without his car and it is going to cost him...
Finally, I'm having Dan put a CAI and boost gauge on my car Wed of this week, and driving from Charlotte to have him do it.
