If anyone remembers last year on the way back from either the friday night dinner or the Sat. ice cream run one of our members saw a half naked girl ( top half ) standing in the middle of 28 beside a van that had pulled off the road. We called BS but he talked about it all weekend. Must be TRUE!!!

I should qualify my post about the nun, we were in downtown Asheville on a Saturday Nite. Might see most anything there.

So - has dinner reservations been confirmed yet for Friday night? If so, then I can't find it in the thread.

I have called and left a message with no return call about the shelter where putt-putt golf used to be, asking if there is a grill nearby so we can cookout instead of going to Bryson City. If someone could confirm with them if there is a grill nearby then that will be the plan. Cookout and everyone bring a few things like chips and such. I'll bring a box of burgers

We prefer the cookout, too

No call back from the event staff yet but what I can gather is the grille is $125.00 rental and the shelter might not be free either. It's not even a gas grille.

It's still clear as can be in my mind and Donna can vouch for it.

Is a potluck at - say - a cabin out of the question?

No but consider parking at said cabin would be an issue. We still have time to iron this out.

Anything firming up on these plans? I wouldn't mind some bratwurst, and thus would bring some bratwurst to the grill. If there was one...

Yeah, $125 for a grill rental is nuts, you can BUY a WEBER charcoal grill for $70

Okay I finally got a call. The grill is $125 for the evening and will include a few tables at the shelter. My vote is no because of the cost.
I guess we'll just have to drive into Bryson City for dinner.
If anyone has any other suggestions, please post it here

I'd vote for a cookout with the tables, We'd get to hang out, instead of restaurant where we may get split into various groups. I can donate some $ for the grill rent.
