Just wanted to let everybody know that if you need upgrades installed the place to take your mini is Grassroots garage in Thomasville. Dan the owner really knows his stuff and is very easy to talk to. The only thing I would suggest is to talk to him before you buy parts he can usually get them cheaper and can advise you on brands. I didnt call first and found out the parts he had were better quality and less expensive.

Big thumbs up for Dan at Grassroots garage :) :)

I got the short shift that Dan has I think he had them designed himself.

Van,
Its the Helix bolt-on ss. I copied the design from someone else, improved it, sent it to Helix and Eric improved it further. I can't take ALL the credit.
And ohh! I can make a list of stuff he can spend more money on. Stage 2 might be MTH software and a rear swaybar

Maybe we should do an MTH party. Just a thought, perhaps I'll post it.

Im saving my money as we speak for the MTH and now the rear swaybar also. MTH party sounds good to me. Thanks for clearing up the short shifter which by the way is one of the best things ive or (youve done)for the mini.

Will be in touch

I have great news. I have finally hired a tech, his name is Andrew, he's 18 and a recent graduate of Hedgecock racings Race Car building program. He is enrolled in Forsyth tech's race car program in the fall. (you'd think this guy wants to work on race cars, or something) Anyway, so far so good, its nice to finally have someone to do the dirty work for me :p

I've never seen/heard the name Drew/Andrew as much as I have in the MINI community! What's the deal?!

I'm very happy to hear you got another guy in there, It'll be great for the shop having another experienced and enthusiastic tech in there. :)

Cool, he can put my Invidia on when the group buy closes and they ship mid-month--or will you still have him wringing the oil out of the shop rags? ;-)

I spent yesterday with Dan the Man - what a great day - left with a new GrassRoots Garage engraved 15% pulley, One-Ball (which was tricky on the cabrio, but Dan whipped it), and rare, virtually unobtainable non-JCW-branded NGK JCW plugs that arrived while I was there and I snatched the first set... :D

Details of the day are on my blog (http://blimey.gomotoring.com/?p=51).

And Dan downloaded my ECU for my MTH tune - waiting until after I have dealer service in a few weeks to ensure they don't do a flash - then he'll send it off...

Dan is as awesome as everyone says - great knowledge, great skills, very customer-focused, patient, meticulous, and FUN. A rare combination of traits. I can see many trips to Thomasville in my future... :)

Just had Dan install a Cravenspeed w/ Grassroots logo 15% on my car - whoah Nelly! Man that little car's gotten a whole lot more serious all of a sudden! (I took Dan for a test spin & he was like - "you're going to need upgraded brakes soon!") Two thumbs up for Dan for unleashing the beast in my MINI.
