OK, nothing ever materialized so we totally missed an April event. Let's set our sights on May.

The covered bridge run with the NC folks was a great time. Beth looked up other possibilities for covered bridge destinations in our area and came up with this:

http://www.virginia.org/site/description.asp?AttrID=30261&CharID=256287

There are a number of excellent routes that we can use to get there. Also, if we make it May 15th we could include this as our final destination.

Comments and alternate suggestions welcome, but lets not miss a May event!

Jak,

As always, you (or anyone else from NC) are welcome to join us. It would be a long day for you but fun.

Karen & I are available. We would love to participate in the drive and the winery / music in Fincastle. We made a last minute decision friday night to drive Skyline Drive last saturday. It was a full day of driving but it was GREAT.

We have a daughter graduating from VT on 5/15 so we're a no-go for that date.

Hopefully we'll be aok for anything scheduled for June.

I wish I could make this one, it sounds awesome. But, my exams are over on the 11th and I'm going to be going home on the 12th, so I can't make it. I'll be back later in May for my Summer internship in Roanoke, so I'm down for whatever events we come up with for the rest of the Summer.

Have Fun!!

Sorry that we can't make it, but Julie and I will be enjoying our 35th wedding anniversary on that day as we travel up the Blue Ridge Parkway to the Skyline drive. We will be staying in the Luray area in the Brookside cabins.
Hope everyone else that can go will have a great day as well.

Dangit! I forgot all about this! We're heading up to the new MINI of Baltimore County for their grand opening. If it weren't for that I'd be there in a second! I'll have to spend more energy watching this board!

It looks like the drive to the bridge (from Catawba area) will take use about an hour and a half depending on the exact route and stops. From the bridge to the winery is another hour and a half. The music at the winery starts at 5. So how does this sound?

Leave Catawba around 2:00. Arrive at bridge around 3:30. Leave for winery about 4.

If agreed we can meet at the store next to the Catawba PO (across from Home Place) between 1:30 and 2:00.

Bring lawn chairs and picnic food if you want. Food will be available at the winery also.

So far there aren't many of us going but all are welcome. Just show up.
