May 3-6 is a MINI event every year. It will be tough to get motel reservations this late. Camping is an option. Last year over 400 MINIs were there!

EXXXXXXCITED also!
There are lots of cabins available for rent in the area - get the Graham county info packet and just start trying folks listed in there - that's what I did and we found a great house 10 minutes from Fontana Village.

Was just checking into this event and see their web site is no longer taking registrations for the event. Site also said event t-shirts and emblems were sold out. I have never been but would love to go for atleast part of the event. If I'm not registered can I still go and do the drives and hangout where ever the main event is and see all the vendors etc??

I'm not sure but got the link to Tailofthedragon from Asethetic Creations, but it might have been a Fontana Village thing. It gave me a link to Event Planner and that is what it said. I plan on going any way ( 1st time ). Plan is to go up friday afternoon and stay till sunday morning.. Thanks

You may have been looking at a previous year? They haven't even opened 2007 registration yet as far as I know - look here (http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/motd-reg).

Stinks to be me! You guys have fun, smoke a cigar, drink a beer and stay inside the yellow lines for me...

I just couldn't wait. I'm now relaxing in the Robbinsville Microtel after scooting up here this afternoon for a quickie. I feel kinda dirty. But GOOOOOD.
For future reference, the last Tuesday in March between 6:15 and 7:00 is OUTSTANDING Dragon time. Almost no traffic - I saw NO other "performance" cars pushing it. Only maybe 8-10 motorcycles. Plus a few pickup trucks and a couple of pickups pulling boat trailers. Only got behind one - and they pulled off nicely to let me by. There were a handful of guys hanging out at Deal's Gap, staying in the "resort".
I feel MUCH more comfortable having my wife and kids in the car for MOTD now - I know what to expect and how hard I can (or can't) push it with my current setup. And the one time I got a little overzealous, DSC saved my butt... but I'm not going to make a habit of that... and I've gotten the "gotta push it" bug out of my system while solo - which will require fewer barf bags for the family...

It'll be totally different with a slew of Mini's in front, behind and coming from the other direction. :D Cause you'll wanna try to see them all! :D Have fun!

I?m not camping out this year. I?ve reservations at this B&B for Friday /Saturday night:
Appalachian Inn B & B
Robbinsville, NC
A soggy bag/ tent/socks and shoes dampened my enthusiasm for camping. It?ll most likely rain one or more of the days again this year.
I?m hoping my wife can join me this trip. If not then I?ll probably caravan with you and the group on Thursday like last year.
I didn?t pre register so I?m sure the Friday night dinner tickets are gone. Keep your ears open for any extras.

Hello everyone,
I hope everybody is doing well. Sorry I have been out of touch for a while due to some business conflicts. I will not be able to attend MOTD this year.:( If anyone is needing a poolside cabana @ Fontana Village Resort for May 3rd thru May 6th I have one available. I made the reservations a year ago. The room is $ 122.05 per night tax included in that price. Call me if you want the room they said they could give it to someone but I would rather someone in the club get it. Call me if you want the room. All I want in return is a t-shirt form the Dragon.
Thanks, Tim

Blimey.. I kinda into the British flag thing as well. I'd to get the Union Jack "eyes" that you have. Where did you get them?
