I find it not only quite entertaining, but often relaxing to go somewhere local that is somewhat rural, and then just start going off on roads that I've never even heard of. I do this fairly often, and having just got my first Mini (yay) 2 days ago, I had the chance to go on an adventure earlier today. After leaving GTCC in Jamestown, I started west on High Point Rd. Then I made a left on some road, drove for a while, and the next thing I knew I was passing through Randleman. Eventually found Groometown Rd and made it back, and it was quite fun. Just thought you guys might like to try this sometime, wherever you are (though I advise you bring a GPS to find yourself), as it is quite fun!

We used to go motorcycle riding with 4 people and we would each lead and then choose left, right, or straight, and then fall back to the end of the line. The next person led until he/she decided to make a turn and then they fell back to the end. We would do this for hours and we had no idea where we might end up. It was great fun and different each time.

I do that whenever I can, myself! Back after I got my DL, I would do that to just drive (and people wonder why and how I know so much about different places in NC! - between that and working for an ambulance service :-p )
Its fun, and quite relaxing to go explore on your own, but its even more fun when you have a co-pilot with you so that when you come up to a stop sign/stop light or random road, they tell you to go left/right/straight.
