View Full Version : Need Parcel Shelf....

Ok, so my Mini doesnt have a parcel shelf, and I would like to get one to "hide" the contents in my crawlspace (too small to call it a trunk).

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find one. I have checked out a few junkyards around and no Mini's to be found. The closest one was at the Junkyard that I purchased a part from e-bay, and it was in Maryland....

They have a 2004 wrecked (front end coll) Mini on their yard. I have contacted them about the parcel shelf; really want to see if I can obtain one closer.

Any thoughts and/or suggestions regarding this matter?

Thanks,
Becky

Try eBay. Supposedly there are none left in the US as it is a European item. Mark found me one from eBay several months ago.

I'm guessing you want the shelf that goes over the boot (since you mentioned trunk)... The parcel shelf the previous posts mentioned goes below the steering wheel. Which one is it you are looking for?

ps... the euro parcel shelf (goes below steering wheel), even though its still listed at many websites... isn't available in the US. About the only solution to that is to find someone selling theirs, or maybe buy from overseas. Both of which may be fairly expensive, unless you get lucky... those are somewhat hot commodities since lots want them, and there are few around.

We do not get a discount from Moss but feel free to ask them and let me know if they will.

Thanks for the replies!

The piece I am looking for is the shelf.... the board that covers the trunk space. Im assuming its called a "parcel shelf" from the research that I have done. It has 2 strings that attach to the back hatch, that when you open up the "trunk" the shelf raises up.

If you purchase your Mini brand new, this is where the traffic triangle is stored at... (on the underside). Its the shelf that if the rear hatch is closed, and you look through the back glass--- you cannot see the contents of the trunk.

I have looked on ebay, and the closest thing I could find was a shelf for a classic MC.... it was some sort of wood grain... I couldnt find anything else on ebay about it.

I also went to MossMini.com and looked up "parcel shelf," "shelf" and "parcel" in the search and the closest thing it gave me was in fact the "factory parcel tray" that goes underneath the steering wheel. To further describe the part Im looking for--- its what the rear saddlebags attach to.

The closest I have been able to find is a wrecked MC in Maryland at a junkyard. I have sent them an email requesting information on some parts off the car, but they have yet to reply back.

Hope this helps....

Becky

You have to get in the British mindset... hehe :D

MINI's have a boot for a trunk...

MINI's have a bonnet for a hood...

MINI's go motoring when being driven about...

When a MINI meets another MINI out motoring the owners
usually do one or all of the following...

MINI's get traditionally greeted with a thumbs up...
or
MINI's get headlights flashed at them...
or
MINI's get polite honks of the horn...

MINI's have Tyres, and run on petrol... sometimes :D

I will keep my eyes peeled on ebay for the shelf as well.

I went to the website, saw it but how do you order it? I signed up for the forums but apparently they have me in the "forum approval que" that wont allow me to post yet.

Can anyone help me out and speak up for me and give that guy my contact information? I have no clue as to how long it will take for me to be "approved."

I sent the seller SayGoodbye a private message with your contact info... Once you are registered on NAM you should also send SayGoodbye a message... From there you can work out payment and shipping details etc...

Many people take Paypal, so purchasing is pretty easy. :)

Good Luck,
Scott

Thanks for doing that for me!

I just got in from castle carnavale and checked my messages. Sometime while I was gone, my account was validated so I went ahead and sent the seller a private message regarding the parcel/boot shelf.

Lets see where it goes from there.

Thanks again!
