The man who brought us Dan "Zip" Zipkin of GrassRoots Garage fame also brings us this hot tip! :p Dan's dad Dave was at the shop today and mentioned this to me.

I'm going and I think I have Dan talked into it too. It's a good drive from here/there  and who doesn't like a good drive? Especially when a few of us go.

Best part is that it's CHEAP, like $200 for the track day and hotel, actual mileage may vary.

They're VERY lenient on classifications, MINI Cooper S comes in as ST3 out of the box, and they allow exceptions, and have a bump scale that like I said is lenient for those of us with a few mod's. For instance, my RSB is not even an issue.

Yes, 'verts need roll bars...sorry drop tops, it's to protect your noggin!

Let's get a crowd up there for a fun day!

Remember this date is for Bi-annual elections hosted at FLOW. I hope more will turn out for elections.

Sounds awesome, maybe next year for me..I'm leaning towards the Dragon this year(It's gonna be fun getting a room reservation this late!) Just wondering, have they ever had anything similar to this at VIR? Time trials seem like my cup of tea, as opposed to any other kind of club racing.

This does look pretty interesting. NASA runs lots of TT's at VIR, but it has always been my understanding that to do TT's you have to have a rollbar. Maybe NASA requires one, EMRA doesn't, I don't know. I don't have a rollbar.

Guys, EMRA was born and is domiciled in New England, so for them, this track is "South", and I don't think they come to VIR. Other clubs, of course, do. The Mazda club, (think Miata's) is running a full course DE in late June, it's $450, though.

Almost all these guys require roll bars on 'verts, and they all publish their rules, including that one, in PDF documents you can find on their websites.

I just think it's neat we have suitable cars and opportunities to get on some great tracks!

Oh, brother, I think I may back out of this too! ;-) SORRY DAN!

CarolinaRides is having their Dyno day that day in CLT, Mark's having club elections, and I'm going to VIR on the 14th with BMWCCA, (not running, just hanging out and parade lap).

Maybe we'll all plan on one for next year?

There is always the season ender at Summit Point at the end of November.
I'll post more on that when the date approaches.
Dave, I'm actually a little relieved, the Dragon is already using all of my funds plus some.
