Having been a subscriber of XM radio for a couple of years now, I have been looking for a unit to put into my MINI. I didn't really want to have to mount one to the dashboard or console, and didn't want to switch over to Sirius. Luckily I ran across a unit that plugs directly into the MINI's remote cd player harness and operates off of the MINI's headunit.

I have installed several satellite units over the past couple of years for myself and freinds, but this has to be THE easiest and neatest install I have ever done. Honestly, opening the plastic packaging that the XM tuner box comes in is harder that hooking it up.

Installation is as simple as opening the storage area door on the right side of the boot, plug in a couple of wires, plug in your antenna wire, and your basically done. Mounting your antenna may take a few munites, depending on where you locate it. I elected to mount mine on the center of the dash, up close to the windshield. I ran the wire in the crack at the front of the dash out of sight, and under all of the interior trim. The antenna picks up fine mounted on the dash.

If you are considering an XM unit for your MINI, I highly recommend this unit. It fits 2003 thru 2006 models with the satellite ready radio. I'm not sure, but I think all radios in those model years are sat ready. If you have the remote cd changer the unit will still work with no problems.

Below is a link to the unit that I installed.

Forgot to mention that this is an excellent price for this product. You will be hard pressed to find a better setup anywhere in this price range.
