ROFL! There are about a gazillion hot hatches on the international market and they chose the MINI as their target, b/c all the YUPPIE women buy them? I had no idea I was in THAT demographic! ;-)

I read the article and said... "Oh, Please...." Yeah, like thats REALLY going to make an impact.... New Chevy's and the other P.O.S. disposable cars... are just that... disposable.

No "Amercian" Made product will be able to compare to the quality of BMW and Mini Cooper.....

Ha! I don't see that happening. It's not even a Chevy, it's a "Chery" the Chinese brand that blatantly knocked off the name Chevy. If I were going to start a car company and knock off another companies name I wouldn't use Chevy, maybe "Tiny" or "BWM" or "Aodi" or something along those lines. :P

I'm not so sure about that. The article was talking about Cherys, not Chevy's but my car is far from quality. Very fun to drive, yeah, but I've had a lot of things go wrong with it, compared to my '98 Cavalier. The only fix needed on that car was a right rear window motor in 75,000 miles, while the Cooper S has needed a new flywheel, 2 alignments - a steering wheel re-mount (and the steering wheel is still off  ), new sunroof motor, new engine mount, 3 new side turn signal clips, a new puddle light bulb, a new clock, new seat heater, and the strut mounts are starting to mushroom a little.

This car is far from perfect :)

I agree with you on that Rich. Other than a short in the wiring for the sunroof, my Blazer hasn't ever shown any other problems at all. My MINI on the other hand has had a new clutch, A/C compressor, boot latch, seat cover, windshield, and is still waiting on repairs for some other issues... and that's in 8 months!

Am I just indiscriminate or did you guys get lemons? ;-) Only one problem, (flat tire warning came on, no flats), in 8 months, and 12.5K HARD miles! Oh, crap, just jinxed myself!

Some of ya'll are starting to scare me!! No problems for me yet. Only been 4400 miles. Did get a rock to the windshield the other day for a small crack. Not my cars fault though...

Wow, whats with all the hate guys,
I'm sure the Chery is going to be a neat little car, and I already have their factory scan tool, so when we start to see them, I'm set. You know you will all trade your MINI's in on these things, and then we'll have to change the name of the club to Tarheel Chery M#*@#& Club!

Hey, you know its true;)
