Hello Club Members!
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and that the new year is starting off great.
I want to get some input on a few things for us to do this year that have been rumbling in my head.
Ideas:
A March or April drive for charity.
$30 per car, and we?ll make a day of it and have dinner up in the hills somewhere. Any volunteers to help coordinate the event? The charity will be Victory Junction Gang. This will be open to all makes and models. I?m hoping to make this a yearly event.
A Pulley Party and stripe install.
June or July. No time frame set, but Jeff the decal installer is going to donate 50% of his price to*the VJG charity also. I think it will be at Dan?s*Grassroots Garage in Thomasville. Maybe we can do a cookout that day!
Pre-Dragon get-together.
February or March. To discuss and pass out information about the Dragon event and the Club's plans for the event. We need a spot to meet that?s quiet and open.
Moonshine Rally
May 20th in Elkin. More info to come soon.
Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup Day
Late March or early April.
Winery Tour and Drive
Date & Location to be determined. Any volunteers to help coordinate the event?
Drive to Stone Mountain State Park for a picnic.
July or August. Any volunteers to help coordinate the event?
WHEW!
My mind's had a lot on it for awhile.
MORE NEWS:
T-shirts are in! I now have plenty of Medium and XX-large on hand.
New Club Embroidery!
I just posted new information about this on our forum. Ralph has made our
WINGS logo available.
The Food Drive we had at our December party brought in over 500 items for the Second Harvest Food Bank! Thanks to everyone!
FLOW MINI is going to have a few drives to VIRginia International Raceway this year, and I?d like for us to have some flyers at each event. I plan on going up at least twice this year. If you need the flyer I have made, please let me know. VIR is a great track, and almost every time FLOW goes they let us out on the track for a few ?PARADE? laps. It?s a lot of fun.
FLOW will also be having ?NEW OWNERS? meetings during the year, and it?s a great time to learn a few things about your MINI and talk to other new owners who want to know more about the car and our CLUB. I?ll be at every one of these meetings.
Last but not least, we*now have over 170 members registered with the club. I know most of you can?t come to every event. I think we now have a need for some CLUB Crew Chiefs! If anyone wants to help set up an event in their area, and wants some help from me to do it, please ask. I?ll be more than happy to do what I can.
Please remember our slogan/motto: WE?RE GOING TO HAVE FUN NOW! I hope everyone can and will enjoy what we are planning for 2006!
