How about a thread where we can claim "bragging rights" for our recruiting prowess? Let's give ourselves a big shout out when we have a good day tagging cars with the "I Spotted Your MINI" cards!
There are no official "rules" - but here's what I'm doing:
1) I'm writing a handwritten note on the back of each card, saying that we're now having monthly meets and fun events in the Raleigh area, and to contact me for more info - with my email address.
2) I'm logging each car I tag in my MINI journal - including description of the MINI and the plate number. I'm going to attempt to NOT tag the same car too frequently (no more than once a month). Also, if I determine that it's a "club car" and the member is active, I'll note that in my journal and stop tagging that car when I see it.
Sound good? :)
OK - I'm giving myself a shoutout today for tagging six (6!) cars. Cruised around the entire Crossroads area parking lots while running errands and got 5 there - actually saw a 6th car but it got away before I could tag it...
Got another one while at the grocery store tonight.
This was easy and FUN. I'm going to start cruising those lots every other week or so - a good place to find cars. It's interesting that probably 80% of the MINIs I see are parked "alone" - their owners go out of their way to park in a "safe" space away from other cars. That's Love.
A fun weekend event sometime would be a "tagfest" - wear our THMMC shirts and cruise around en masse for a couple of hours tagging and logging cars - then meet to compare results and celebrate...
Might be interesting to keep tallies or a "leader board" for each region... Since I know folks in, say, Greenville NC can't compete with folks in Greensboro...
