I just want to know where you get your oil changed at. I went to jiffy and got a full synthetic change for free because they didn't have the tool to change my filter.

Dan Zipkin @ Grassroots Garage. He is listed on the club discounts page.

Yeah but if I'm going to drive to T-ville then I might as well just go to flow

I'm active duty military who rents a townhouse. I don't have a garage.

Any possibility you could do it in the driveway/parking lot for your townhouse? It is not a difficult job and can be done in a fairly short amount of time. I would guess the biggest risk as a renter would be oil spillage. Unless there are some other rules in place that would prevent you from being able to work on it.

I know we have some members from down in that area - hopefully they can chime in with some recommendations if DIY is not an option.

I could try but I don't have any tools and the last place said my filter was on too tight and that they suggested I take it to a dealer because they were afraid they would break something trying to take it off. I just got my oil changed just not the filter. It won't be driven much for a while. I'm deploying soon and my wife will be driving it like once a week.

The Valvoline in Richlands told me they had serviced some Mini's. You may want to give them a call.

before you take it anywhere, call and make sure they have the filter in stock. I was in Wilmington for a week and I took it to a valvoline there and they not only did not have the filter in stock, but couldn't get it for a few days. They called all the parts stores around there (it was the one in porters neck, so the north side of town) and nobody in the area had any. just FYI.

I'm wondering about this, too. I've had the oil changed by a mechanic in Cary once, but it is well out of my way and difficult for me to get there during their business hours on most occasions. I've heard so many horror stories about places screwing up an oil change on MINIs, but I am also unable to do oil changes myself due to my living situation. I know I can take it to Flow, but their prices are steep. So I would also love some suggestions in the Raleigh area if anyone has any.

Flow will want your car for roughly 2-3 hour min. If you get an appointment with Dan you will be done in less then an hour..
Plus it will be cheaper..
