I just purchased my first MCS after wanting one since they came out in the states. I got it Monday 6/12/07 and on Wednesday 6/20/07 I blanked out at the wheel and ran a stop sign. A 1997 Chevy blazer struck me in the front right quarter panel and hit me so hard that the Mini whipped back around and struck the left passenger door of the Blazer. The officer wrote me a citation for running the stop sign and I spent the next 6 hours in the ER strapped to a backboard. I am not hurt and not even sore..the MCS has awesome safety features and everyone of them worked when they were suppost to. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED..i didnt need them to. So anyway the officer wrote both of us as going 35mph but you guys take a look at the pictures and give me your opinion..i believe he was speeding..His truck is totaled and the Mini (appropriately named "Crush" now) has about $5000 in damage..

WOW! I'm glad your OK. Sounds like the Mini really held up it's end of the bargain. Hope your going to find out why you blacked out in the first place....

All I can say is WOW!!! Glad to see that you werent hurt any worse than what the pictures look like! I sure do hope that you can either get the Mini repaired or that other guy's insurance pays for another one. It really sucks to see a Mini in a wreck, but at least we know from your first hand experience how well a Mini will hold up in a (at least a low impact) MVA.
Deffinately get to the bottom of the syncopal episodes, they are not a good thing to be worried with, especially going down the road like that. If your blood sugar was 120 and the scans read negative.... what about sleep? I have had similar episodes (that happened at home, thank God) that my doctors couldnt explain either. The best theory any of us could come up with was that the reason why I had my syncopal (passing out) episodes was due to stress and lack of sleep. Any med changes??? Those are some things to consider....
*Im an EMT in Forsyth County*
Good luck!

yeah ya know..I work for the Sheriff's office in Guilford Co. in the capacity of a detention officer..so stress and sleep are 2 definate possible issues..

Thank goodness you're okay, welcome to the club, and I really like your wheels--well three of them anyway. ;-) Looking forward to meeting you at a future run.
