Is there possibility for price negotiation on getting a new mini from the local dealer? At one point I was thinking of getting a new HD motorcycle but they would not budge on the price. Has anyone been able to purchase their mini with a fair amount off the "sticker" price?

ZERO! Sorry, Every MINI dealer sells at MSRP or a few even higher. You can however ask for a few things like mats or armrest. MINIs have such a great resale value its really hard to get anything off MSRP. It can't hurt to ask but, don't look for anything much.

Sorry but, you won't regret getting a MINI at MSRP. It's a blast and so well worth every penny!

Trust me, from experience buying cars with discounts... you DON'T want a car that they knock $$$$ off of. By not dropping the MSRP they keep the value up for the used market. When GM knocked $10k off some of their vehicles a couple of years ago all of their cars lost similar value. If your new MINI was totalled within a month of buying it new it would still have the same value, if not more, than what you bought it for. If your new Cobalt SS was totalled within a month, it would probably be worth $5k less than you paid.

I hope I don't get fined for piling on. ;-) It's true, they can't come off the sticker, however, they will throw in things, if you're cool about it. The whole MINI experience buying is very mellow and laid back--reminiscent of Saturn when they first came out. As you're hearing, it'll hold it's value, b/c it's a cult car and people are willing to pay for them. So...buy one, be happy and see you soon at a local event! ;-)

Thanks for the info, I'm sure I wouldn't regret buying one. I originally was thinking non turbo mini cooper as gas mileage is excellent, now I'm looking into S model as gas mileage is still good. I keep thinking back to the ZX2 I had which was lightweight. I can only imagine what a blast the mini S would be with its lightweight and turbo.

I originally was thinking cooper for the gas mileage but in the end went with the S and it is fantastic! I have been getting 33 -34 mpg with the S and the performance is great. We tried to negotiate but they wouldn't budge. We did get floor mats and an extra detail but no $ off. Good luck with the purchase.

I've bought 3 minis from flow and I was treated fairly all 3 times. I have no regrets.

I went down to flow and test drove an S yesterday afternoon. Very impressive it was. I wanted to thank Frank and recommend him to anyone who is interested in a new mini. Not only does Frank actually drive the car he sells, he is also very knowledgeable on all the details of the new model, the options available and the comparisons of last years model.
