Shhhhh! Don't give away my secrets. ;) I need to find a new cool spot. I love the urban look of parking decks though.

Oh yeah... I'm a huge Transformers fan. Here's some old pics of my collection. I've since moved the whole setup upstairs into my office.

Geeez!! You must have them all!

I have a rare one. Or at least I think it is rare. I got it when I was into collecting them as a kid. It is one of the mini cars (like Bumble Bee or Cliff Jumper). It came on a Cliff Jumper card (package)... but it was a different car. I came across it a few years ago when going through boxes, and I looked it up online to see what it was. I found that collectors have named it Bumblejumper.. and that it was a fluke or something... not supposed to be released.

Do you know the one?

simplygriff
February 28th, 2006, 09:33 AM
I don't have them all... Nearly all the first generation but not nearly all. :D

I know the one. I actually don't have a Bumblejumper(only mini car I don't have cause people want too dang much for it) but I have a Yellow Cliffjumper (supposed to be red).

I am just curious... what do people ask for the Bumblejumper car? What are the numbers that you think are too much?

I am not in the market to sell it.. but I just want to know what collectors get for them.

simplygriff
February 28th, 2006, 10:07 AM
For a loose one people want around $35-40(I got most all of my other mini cars for no more than $15 each). I don't get much carded stuff but I would guess around $60-75 ish...

Well.. as mentioned.. I am not really in the market to part with mine at the moment. In fact.. it isn't even here.. it is in my parents basement in Connecticut.

But keep in touch with me. I may be willing to let him go some time down the road.... ;)

I noticed that. There are starting to be more and more DS/B's in the Triad. We gotta counteract all that Chilli Red. :D

Let me know if you have any questions about anything. :)

Agreed! We are a very sophisticated crowd... we blend in better too :p (although that may be a bad thing if big trucks can't see us  )

Have the winners from NAM calendar 2007 been announced? I tried to find them on the site yesterday, but all they had were the nominees.

And I agree, that is by far the coolest picture of a MINI I've seen yet. Nice find Griff

NIce, Car, Slick with the old gas station "Happy Motoring" (I believe it was an exxon) I read your mods and like the look, I was wondering about the springs, lowered? How Much? Any known issues? Did you need Camber Plates Fronts, and Adjustable control arms in resr? Are your tires wearing evenly?
has the ride comfort (stiffer, rougher, smoother, bouncy). Any Clearance issues from lowing?
I am looking to lower my 03 MCS, when I put my 18's on, But wanting
not "Reinvent the wheel through costly mistakes", Wanted to compare
different lowing springs, coilovers, etc.... From actual people, not what the retailer "promises or read", been down that road......
Thought I would ask. Also looks pretty neat how the "shallow Woofers" fit in,
How's the mods work, (in your car) to your expectation?

So let's see...

The H-sports lowered a little more than an inch. I'm the rear wheels are almost tucked and I'm running 215-45-17's so they're a little taller than stock. I didn't have to have camber plates or control arms. Just an alignment a couple weeks after the drop and everything settled a bit. Ride is a little rougher than stock but that's to be expected. The tires help outweigh that though cause ditching the runflats made a world of difference. Sometime it feels bouncy (on a very bumpy road) but I've asked people following me if it looked bouncy and it did not. As far as clearance issues the only thing I've noticed is I scrape that bloody air diffuser under the front bumper everynow and then. Not all the time, but you have to be aware of your situation as with any lowered car. I haven't heard of anyone having issues with H-sports. Only time I see them for sale used is because someone upgraded to coils. They get http://www.simplygriff.com/Images/Emoticons/thumb.gifhttp://www.simplygriff.com/Images/Emoticons/thumb.gif from me.

As far as my engine mods, I've been very pleased. The ony thing I would change there at this point would be the exhaust. But that's just cause I've always wanted a Borla for the car but couldn't pass up on the deal on the One-ball.

Any other questions feel free to ask. :D

I like them, I liked your old ones too. When I put the O.Z's on my car a few months back I flip-flopped for a good long while between some similar to your new ones, and the ones I have now... The deal on the O.Z's was too good to pass up though :D

Griff, I'm putting your old thread back in biz to bring your attention to this. I was doing my annual update of my pics on NAM and saw this. Just awesome. I figured it was something you could appreciate, as your tastes in MINI mods seem to be simple and elegant...plus, it's a great shot!

Rise from your grave...

http://www.simplygriff.com/Images/iPhone%20after%20coils.jpg

Got a new suspension installed a week or so ago with HPUDrew's immense help (and Dan & Sumpter's reveiw and correction of a couple minor mistakes :D). Here's a quick iPhone pic in the parking lot at work. Hopefully the schedule will free up and Nulli and I can make it out to see some old friends soon on a Monday night. :)

I'm interested myself. So far they're quite a bit stiffer than the H-Sports and stock shocks I came off of. I still need to get it aligned though (waiting on some new hubcentric rings). We'll see how everything feels once I get that taken care of.
