A old pal of ours (Julie & me) is starting a new racing network. His name is Jim Liberatore and he was the last CEO of Speed Channel aka the old Speedvision. Go log on to his site and check it out...it will be launching in the coming months and be based from Indy...this has been in the works for a long time....

This promises to be a really cool place to view all kinds of motor racing and car related (even HD) programming.

I can't wait. Anything Jim does is gold. You could thank him for F1 on Speed Channel and he really listens to the fans. Tune into the message board...it is just starting...I am oldf1fan on there....that is my login on the Speed boards too...

Here is a picture of me and Jim at a Speed Channel F1 party in Indy 2005...

ahh Speedvision, I miss those days before Fox bought it and turned it into NASCAR network. I was really let down once they totally canceled all coverage of the WRC.

I put a hellya response on there, I like all forms of racing and watching NASCAR least, along with bikes, Rally coverage best, and Speed used to be a great channel and now I rarely watch it.

No offense to my NASCAR buddies, and I go to Lowe's once in a while, I just don't care to watch it on TV...blasphemy for a guy in Charlotte, NC, I know...

Jim called yesterday and said to pass the word that the surveys are designed to collect information on what people want. TV is driven by ratings, everyone knows that. That is why Fox loves nascar.

Jim needs 10,000 people to fill out those surveys. He is selling this to the likes of Direct TV and Dish Network. A tough sell to the big bidness....numbers talk...pass the word. He needs our grassroots help. Call your cable company or Sat provider....I already have. Ask for the Racing Network to be added...you can also send email....but the survey numbers are the biggest help. Tell your friends and put this up on all the message boards you can. Then you can smile when they flip the switch on a very cool racing channel.
