So, I'm going through the insurance process and finding it frustrating (always has been in NC) to get what I need.

I'm sure someone is going to broadside me or steal my car, and my insurance will say "hmm... looks like you have a Cooper S and I can find those from used dealers for $20K, so, here's your $20K, thanks.

Meanwhile I paid more than twice that and would like to "state my value" as such, but apparently in NC you can't get any type of collector car insurance unless it's 20 years old.

If something happens to the Koopa, I fear dark clouds won't be far behind.

Anyone ever tried something like this? Do you just roll the dice on the chance that they'll try to be fair to you (not bloody likely when you consider these are the same companies doing such a number on Katrina victims)

My only advice would be to keep good records for your car ( which looks great, saw it at Dan's, didn't get to hear it though ) window sticker, Dan's bill, maintance, etc. and then hope for the best..If the time arises, maybe Flow would be on your side as far as replacement cost.

I know you can add insurance for after market parts such as wheels, stereo etc. Might have to do it that way. Add some on for each thing.

Hmm... that might work out, kind of itemize everything down.
