Well, its not really a rant, more of an customer service story.
I ordered a clip to mount a GPS unit from Pro Clip (good company to deal with by the way). They shipped the package using DHL and e-mailed me the tracking information. The package was shipped and arrived at the DHL the center in Greensboro late last Monday. On Tuesday morning, it was place on a truck for delivery. Tuesday came and went but no delivery was made. So, Tuesday night I looked at the tracking info. The tracking info stated that an attempt was made to deliver; stating the approximate time, but was unable to deliver,. Call For Info. I thought that was odd, because I was at home at the stated time and no one rang the doorbell when I was in the house, surely I would have seen them if I was outside. So I called the 1-800 number and got the customer-no-service recordings. After punching all of the correct buttons, I get a recorded message stating that an attempt was made to deliver that package, but no one was there to sign for it, we will attempt to re-deliver the next business day. So, the next business day I look at the tracking info, it was placed on the truck for delivery, I do not leave the house until 8:30 that night waiting for my package. You guessed it, no package. So that night I contacted the shipper to follow up on it. The shipper was told the reason it has not been delivered was because they can not locate my house. Thats funny, on Tuesday they found my house but I wasn't there to sign for it. On Wednesday, I guess the driver had forgotten how to get back to my house. Thursday morning it left on the truck again, nope, not today either. So, Thursday night I fire off an e-mail to no-customer-service and ask just when they thought I could expect delivery. They replied back that they could not locate my address. I in turn emailed driving directions along with a MapQuest map and my contact phone number. Friday morning its loaded on the truck, no delivery. Well, for the last week, it has been loaded on the truck every morning for delivery, but somehow fails to get delivered.
Its not that I need the clip right away, but damn, what kind of delivery people do they employee?
I find it funny now. I'm not going to call them or e-mail them again. I just want to see how many days my package is going to be loaded and unloaded off and on that truck before some one decides to finally deliver it.
Oh, the DHL tracking info plainly has my phone number and "NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED" on the label.
Need it there fast? Well don't use DHL.
