As several of you know I'm heavily involved with the Scottish Highland Games and put one on in Greensboro at Bryan Park the first weekend of May each year. Bad thing is it's usually the weekend of the Dragon. Granted quite a few will be in the highlands blissfully enjoying the vagaries of the Dragon but there may be a few who for whatever reason are not able to go. Let me cast a lure in front of you few and see if any bite. How would you like to come to the Triad Highland Games (bring your Mini of course) and show them off. Free tickets (2 for each car) are in the offing and we might can get you interested in a kilt! Tiffany from Flow came over last year with a yellow S and had a great time, she even tried a little Haggis (with Scottish ketchup.... read Scotch here). Ladies you may get a chance to find out what is worn under the kilt. I have a blue ribbon under mine......

If you may be interested drop me an email or post on here. We have several months but the earlier the better. IF I could I'd go do the Dragon but......

Will there be herding dogs showing their stuff, like you did to win that 1st prize while you were sleeping under a tree? ;-)

If for some reason I'm not at the Dragon, I'll be there. We have a Border Collie mix and got a real kick out of the herding dog competition at the Highland Games in GA. As for the Haggis and the kilt check--we'll leave that to the young lasses. ;-)

Count us in. We should be free that weekend and Josh will bring his bagpipes! He's been playing for around 12 years and is quite good at them!(Not sure if he can still get into his kilt or not) <--- I know whats under a Scotts kilt :D

Free tickets would be great as well! Would love to make it up to the Dragon, but Im not sure if my (or ours) budget will allow for it this year.

Keep us posted on whats going on with the event so I can pass it along to Josh so we can plan for it.

I do hope we have sheepdog demos again this year. The fellow who did them last year died and I don't know the arrangements for that yet. As for the tree...............

aye, a wee wee ribbon, no hopes of a larger one.

There will be several pipe bands there as well as some solo pipe. I do hope we have, ahem, you didn't hear this from me, the vestiges of Clan AnDrumma, Albanach, there, I hope I hope. I don't know of Joe Kilna is still with them but he wrote and sung the song, Sgt. McKenzie, that was featured on 'We were Soldiers' when the choppers lifted off to go to the A Shau valley. I have a portion of it on my front web page, www.tarlander.com (http://www.tarlander.com) , the link is in the top right hand corner. Kilt or no, we welcome all, Ceud Mile Failte', A Hundred Thousand Welcomes!. Oh the website for the Triad Games is www.triadhighlandgames.org (http://www.triadhighlandgames.org)
