    So after a bunch of research and discussing it with you guys and with Drew on NAM, Mike and I decided to install a short ram intake today to see how I like it. Its pretty cool, has a nice whooshing sound when I accellerate, but not too loud or obnoxious. It also seems to contribute to the burbling of the exhaust, which I like.
    ANNND, most importantly, it matches Stella perfectly. lol...

    Trackdaze was an awesome experience. I had another excellent and enthusiastic instructor, Alan Barksdale, who has an R53.

    I try to do as many ride alongs as I can stand because they help me learn faster, but we never hit the track in his MINI. This was a shakedown weekend for his LeMons entry- a totaled & stripped 1990's Toyota MR2, so thats what I rode in for three 30 minute sessions. There is a _lot_ of exposure ...

    Rear seat delete, another track day

    More good weather is another mod opportunity. I finally got to pop out the rear seats, and my wife was _not_ pleased with the new-found fuel pump and exhaust noise. I made a simple cover to go over the hole it left behind, but I haven't found carpet to cover it with yet. Its still noisy for the time being. We had the wood left over from a queen bed project so this was another low budget mod. I used the table saw and my scroll saw for the seat belts connectors- should Schrothe ever approve a harness ...

  4. New Signs at Flow MINI of Raleigh

    I had a good couple days a CMP. Lots of seat time, and my instructor Chris Thomas also drove an R53 MINI, so I rode along three times to memorize the turn in points.
