Our club was started as a way for MINI Cooper owners and enthusiasts to get together, hang out, talk and learn from each other, and drive some of the greatest roads found in NC & Va!
So after a bunch of research and discussing it with you guys and with Drew on NAM, Mike and I decided to install a short ram intake today to see how I like it. Its pretty cool, has a nice whooshing sound when I accellerate, but not too loud or obnoxious. It also seems to contribute to the burbling of the exhaust, which I like. ANNND, most importantly, it matches Stella perfectly. lol...
Trackdaze was an awesome experience. I had another excellent and enthusiastic instructor, Alan Barksdale, who has an R53. I try to do as many ride alongs as I can stand because they help me learn faster, but we never hit the track in his MINI. More good weather is another mod opportunity. I finally got to pop out the rear seats, and my wife was _not_ pleased with the new-found fuel pump and exhaust noise. I made a simple cover to go over the hole it left behind, but I haven't found carpet to cover it with yet. Its still noisy for the time being.
