Prayers needed for Pete @ Minspeed

I just found out that Pete at Minspeed has been hit with colon cancer. He was diagnosed about two weeks ago and has already had major surgery and is going to be going through radiation and chemo.

I just got off the phone with him and he sounded worn out. He was on the way to the doctor?s office for a consult. He said they did a colonoscopy and the scope would not even go all the way in, it was that big when found. Being the bonehead that he is, he knew something was wrong but he chose to ignore it. When he finally did go that is what was found.

Pete has supported this club since day 1. This club would not be as great as it is without the support that Pete has given to all of us. Please send your well wishes to info@minspeed.net

If you're over 40 and at risk (e.g. my Dad had colon cancer), DO IT NOW.
No excuses. It's no big deal. You'll laugh about it when it's done and show your photos to all your friends...

I lost my mother to Colon Cancer a few years back and early detection is key to surviving it. As Paul said a Colonoscopy is not a big deal at all and well worth it for the peace of mind you will have.

Pictures of it...I think not.
Sharing those pics with your friends...Absolutely not.

My Dad had Colon Cancer surgery in 1989. It was at the stage were the cancer was all the way Thu the colon. He survived. I have had two Colonoscopies and I am due for my third now.

Guys, what Blimey says,do it now! Its really no big deal, the ''home procedure'' the day before is worse than what the Dr does to you.Pics? I got no pics?Not that i'd want them,as long as i know all up there is well.
My thoughts and prayers are centainly with Pete in the tough time.

Had the endo and the colonoscopy.....the prep is the worst part...no big deal....do it as the downside is much worse the the procedure.....

Pete is one nice dude. I hope things are going well for him.

I feel bad that I just found this thread and found out about this. I have talked to Pete via email and several occasions and he has always been great. He has also helped my out buying parts by letting me pick them up without paying shipping when I have down that way on vacation *my father lives 10 minutes from there, I used to live 15).

I hope him all the best and that he gets through this quickly.

My grandmother died from this in the mid 90's since she didn't know she should have this done and it was found too late. Diagnosis to her passing away was only a few months. Glad I got to go on a trip with her right before I found out.

I have not had a colonoscopy yet but at my age, etc. my consultations with my doctor I am not ready yet. That being said I believe in making sure you are healthy and if at risk or in that age range to begin checking then I advise doing so.

He had told me when he was closing up show due to health reasons and wished him well, and still do. Great guy! I just had mine done last month and thankfully I'm good for another 10 years. The prep is the worst, lol but the piece of mind is worth it.

As everyone said not a fun procedure but there is nothing better than being told you don't have to do it again for 10 years!!
