This woulda been a dang fine time to repaint my strut bar.... I almost took it off last weekend to do it, but ran outta time... If I happen by Dan's shop later this week, I might pick it up...
(In case anyone is wondering... YES my strut bar is already powdercoated red... but it isn't the *right* red to match the rest of my red.... so I'm re-doing it... yes, I'm a maniac)

If you find a good place to have your aero bumper painted, let me know. I have one sitting here waiting for a point job. I have the BASF paint code for the trim paint if you need it also. I don't mind Kenny Hawkins but I got this feeling there going to be a little expensive.
"Good" is expensive and long-term, it is not. I learned my lesson with my '71 Porsche. I ended up taking it to 3 different paint shops before it was done, nearly 3 years. And, I am still not 100% satisfied. It seems every time I tried to save money, it ended up costing me more. Like my Dad always said, do it right or don't do it at all. That is how I learned not to do it at all. Not sure, I got the lesson quite right.

Sorry Paul, but congratulations! (That was odd to say!)
"Wallace" is..... 1QukMINI.
I am dealing exclusively with Kenny Hawkins... Since the insurance pays for it and all you have is your deductible, just take it to the best... So far, from what I have been dealing with, Kenny Hawkins seems like the place to go.
Hate that happened to ya Paul but nuttin like turning a negative into a positive...![]()
The Mini is gone but not forgotten, what a ride it has been with the best people, the best Mini club and most fun little car I have ever owned!!!

Look at the bright side... A new bumper will add at least 15 more Blimey Goodness Horsepower...
BlimeyCabrio, MINI Cooper S Cabrio. A MINI barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic Cabrio. BlimeyCabrio will be that MINI. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster.
Hang in there Paul, time heals all wounds.Blimey will be back better'n new for you know it!

Oh, It's gonna rock... just wish it was the "one-afternoon-bolt-on-a-new-bumper-and-motor" kinda mod, vs. the "parked-for-an-indefinite-period-of-time" kinda mod...
And now I need to make a new UJ grille...

Formerly a 2008 PW/B MCS - "Sarge" (So long, pal, thanks for always being there for me when I needed ya)
Paul,
The new lower grille is about 1/2" thick and very sturdy. Not anything like the one you had. It's also very hard to take off after its on.
