    Fix a flat

I'm getting ready to do a couple of the events sponsored by THMMC, and was curious as of to what everyone uses to fix flat tires. I don't want to be stuck on one of these drives as I do not have runflats. Any good kits?

I run with a AAA card... I have heard from a lot of tire shops that the canned Fix-A-Flat can do a lot of damage to the wheels themselves, also causes some kind of dry rot inside after a while. I have a can in my car, as a last resort.

    No spare?

Yea, my spare is 15" and I have 17" rims on it, but I figure worse case scenario I'll just look like Wild&Crazy Hop-a-Long John ..

(got the AAA card too, but I'm not sure how far they'll tow and we get a loong way from home .. )

No, I don't want to carry a spare. I just thought there were kits where you plug the hole or whatever.

Slime kit with compressor, AND Dynaplug kit (which is what I really use - this Slime is as a last resort). I've plugged lots of tires without issue - though I haven't needed to plug one on the MINI *yet*...

The Dynaplug is a wonderful thing... much easier and cleaner than old fashioned plugs.

Slime kit w/compressor and a plug kit here. Also a small pair of plyers or wire cutters to pull the offending object out...

The Mini is gone but not forgotten, what a ride it has been with the best people, the best Mini club and most fun little car I have ever owned!!!

I keep a jack in the trunk and always ride with a cell phone. I'm going to let a professional repair it at some point, so I don't bother with anything roadside. <knocks on wood>

You guys are on the money, slime or fix-a-flat as last resort ONLY. They will destroy a tire that may only need to be plugged. You should carry a plug kit (consisting of plugs, insert tool, reamer, side cutting pliers and razor blades) and a small compressor, the kind that plugs into the lighter socket is best (the battery powered ones don't seem to hold a good charge for long). AAA is always a good idea OR I have a towing plan with Verizon ($9/mo) added to my cell phone bill, my wife has used it twice.
