    R56 ! Warning Light

I was on my way to a wedding this afternoon, half way there l got a warning light ! come up on the display.
The manual says it relates to the tyre sensor - l've checked the tyres and all look ok physically, l will check the pressures later when the storm blows over.

Has anyone had this before? I found an article on this issue and the tyres being ok, just wondering if anyone here has had this issue arise.

Once you check the pressures, if all are ok, go through the reset procedure. Then see if it gets triggered again. Otherwise, might be some quirk in the sensor. Haven't had it happen with my MINI, but my wife's minivan will throw a false positive on the tire sensors every now and then.

I've had this happen a number of times. Big change in outside temp, rotating the tires....seems there are any number of things that can cause a false alarm. Check the pressures, if OK just follow the reset proceedure in the manual. All is well.

It happened to me quite a bit, too, and most recently, it was a bad sensor up front--maybe from tire spin? ;-) Usually, though, it's harmless.

I inflated all the tyres upto the correct psi, and reset the warning light - all looks fine, wondering if it was weather related.

Mine seems to act up when I'm driving in the rain... not the best time to pull over and check tire pressures.

Well l'm still getting the warning light, no fixed period of when it comes on, so l guess l must have a leak in one of the tyres.

Each time l check the tyre pressure, seems ok usually a couple of psi down per tyre.

Got it booked in on Saturday at my local tire place to get it checked out, they reckon they can fix run flats.

I didn't think run flats could be fixed? Can anyone enlighten me :)

Yes, I had my run flat tire repaired 2-3 months ago. I hit a nail right in the middle of the tire.

Run flats are just like normal tires on the tread part. The difference is the sidewall - normal tires have 2 layers, runflats have 22. Some shops don't have the right equipment to remove and mount runflats 'cause the sidewalls are so stiff.

They also recommended draining all of the tyres and refilling them with Nitrogen - not gonna go for that idea but an interesting one.
