    Windshield repairs/warranty

    Yesterday my windshield was cracked by flying debris on I-40 on my way to Thanksgiving dinner. Called Mini and the warranty does not cover windshield repair or replacement, and yes it needs to be replaced(the crack is GINORMOUS )!!! If the warranty allegedly covers everything bumper-to-bumper for the next four years or 50,000 miles, WHY IS THE WINDSHIELD NOT COVERED??? Has anyone else experienced this type of headache?

    The warranty doesn't cover a fender if someone throws a rock against it either... Insurance covers damage done to your car. Some Mini windshields get stress cracks that Mini will cover but a bumper to bumper warranty on any car does not cover damage.....

    The Mini is gone but not forgotten, what a ride it has been with the best people, the best Mini club and most fun little car I have ever owned!!!

    Auto insurance policies cover glass replacement. Typically your standard deductible applies. Some of us (including me) pay a few extra dollars per year for zero deductible glass replacement - since this is NOT an uncommon thing to happen.

    Unfortunately the upright windshield that is so Mini is very suseptable to rock damage and few of us with any miles on our cars have the original windshield still in place...

    The Mini is gone but not forgotten, what a ride it has been with the best people, the best Mini club and most fun little car I have ever owned!!!

    I have my original after 62,000 miles - but it has 4 bullseye breaks and a zillion pits and I've just been too lazy to get it swapped - been meaning to for the past 30,000 miles...

    Windshield repaired

    We are back in bussiness, windshield has been replaced. Absolute Vision Mobile Autoglass Service perfomed the surgery without a hitch.
