Thanks so much for a great event!

Only one thing I noticed:

The website said that it would be from 12-4... however everyone was packed up and gone by 3. Since Dan and I were talking to a few people, we stayed long enough to see a few people show up at around 315, sad that everyone had already left.

It just stinks that a time was posted here and it was long over before the ending time.

Most people were there early on and the HEAT played a part in people wanting to leave early.. but better hot then rain!!!!

As one who had to arrive late at 1:45p and noticed people leaving .. and stayed til almost the very end when there were actually still a few MINIs arriving who were perhaps disappointed that not only the number of MINIs was seriously depleted, but the food was packed up and put away, I feel bad especially for any for whom this was an inaugural experience with the club.
Perhaps in the future the time could read: 12n - ? so that if it closes up early there was never an "end" time indicated ..

When I arrived I asked how many MINIs had been counted -- since I saw some departing even before I parked -- and was told 66. After my arrival JD showed up; that would make 67. As I was leaving, Al & Ellen were just pulling in, so if my math is right that would make 68. Perhaps not the 100 hoped for, but iirc the prior record was 67, so at least we broke that. Of course I did not contribute to that record breaking ..

Finally, rumour has it that during a Thank You speech, the one person who got missed was our uber-organizer, Jak. Who not only kept track of the attendees; who was bringing what; what was still outstanding; offering suggestions to those inquiring about what was still needed; but who also extended a show-up-anyway invitation to this MINI-less for the day club member. Thank you, Jak

Great to see so many MINI-maniacs -- both existing members and new ones. For the newbies, be sure and check the events thread for other options .. both driving options and social options. The Triad area meets weekly for dinner on Tuesdays and the Triangle area club members meet the 2nd Thursday of every month; if you enjoyed dining with us at the picnic, join us; we didn't have enough time to get to know everyone, we'd like to get to know you better!

I was hoping we were going to make it this year, things just didn't work out. Great pictures Mel, just makes me wish we could have made it even more.
